Final Fantasy XIII graded lower than XII?

I was just wondering how FFXIII got a worse grade than FFXII did in it's time. IMO FFXII was the worst Final Fantasy ever. Is FFXIII that bad that it has to be graded lower? I need reasons!

And FF12 is not the best, but certainly its not worst than FFx-2 imo.

I'll get FFXIII on tuesday, and i sure hope i don't get disappointed.

Also, you shouldn't let a review determine your purchase. The review is THAT player's opinion on the game. Your opinion could be totally different.

There is a reason for it being graded a bit low, FFXIII is taking a more different approach in its franchise. For instance, the linear part of the game is what recieved some thumbs down by the majority of the reviewers, FF is known for being an open world type of RPG and SE wanted XIII to be a bit different this time, it recieved some points down for not being traditional.

This of course was bound to happen, but surley I can tell you that FF XIII is going to be a great game no matter what the reviewers have stated, I can tell that this game is a definite AAA, regardless of the questionable reviews seen here in GS and in other gaming websites.

hmm, i agree that reviews must be looked at in order to make sure you are wisely spending $64. That's why i take reviews a concensus. If the game is generally review bad, its probablly a bad game, and vice verca. But there comes a point where "good" and "amazing" is ultimately up to the player. I say, once after 8.5, the game's greatness is up to the player. For example; MGS3 got a 8.6. I consider it one of the greatest games of all time. Shadow of the Colossus got an 8.6, and its one the greatest games of all time, imo Same with Silent Hill 2, and MGS1, etc... So, an 8.5? To me, that's destined for greatness.director13

my opinion i thought ffxii is a good game, maybe gamespot gave it this score because they expeted much more. i probably would too, but i think its going to be one of the best games this year, because its a next gen Final Fantasy for ps3 and xbox360. i think the upcoming final fantasy games will be better.. its just the beginning for final fantasy on these consoles.
