I just beat him. I cast Shell and protect and just attacked. I think there is a trick that you have to keep on recovering Hope.

Its not a big deal but you just spoiled me that Odin appears in the game which I haven't bought yet. Watch out those thread titles.

I beat him on my first try in about 3 minutes :| Before engaging the cutscene before the battle, press L1 and there should be 3 items there (at least I had 3...). I used the last 2 items and then went into battle with about all of the attacks and magic doing more damage. Beat him like it was nothing :D

Have these Paradigms readily available. 1 Light:Commando-Hope:Ravager and 2 Light:Medic-Hope:Ravager.

Odin will concentrate his attacks on Hope for the whole match, assuming you can keep him alive. So start the match in the Medic-Ravager Paradigm and keep healing Hope till Odin goes into his guarding stance. Then Paradigm switch to CMD-RAV and beat Odin down for a bit. When Odin starts attacking again switch to your healer.

Your TOP priority is keeping Hope alive. Odin will NOT attack Light as long as Hope is around unless she gets caught in splash damage or a huge swing attack. Also maybe try doing as you were instructed in the tutorial. Use Libra and get the hint on how to Gestalt a summon. Odins hint is he likes people who heal their party(or something along these lines). You have to use Libra twice to get this info.

Go into the battle with two medics and just spam heal cuz as you already realized he hits hard. When he uses Urill Shield change to a paradigm with two ravagers and cast at him 3 or 2 gauges of magic. Then change to your 2-medics paradigm AT ONCE. Just be patient and you'll beat him. That's how I did it at least. Just heal when he attacks and cast magic when he uses shield.

I had some hard time with him too, toughest opponent so far.

Start the battle with a) light MEDIC hope Synergist, then after he does his first attacks b) MEDIC MEDIC and instantly after you have healed c) RAVAGER RAVAGER. Keep repeating b) and c)

Odin killed me twice I think. Just spam heal after you cast protect for both shallow characters then com/Rav to death.

If you use Libra it will show you how to build his bar up for capture. Which is attacking him and healing wounded allies.

This was actually the first fight I had to take my blind-fold off for.

switch up Lightning to caster and cast lightning while Hope heals. Some attacks do better than others. Seems hitting them with the property they are based on works best.

Start off as MED/SYN and have Hope cast protect on both your members, then switch to RAV/MED combo keep that up until it uses it's shield ability then switch to RAV/RAV. Then rince and repeat RAV/MED then RAV/RAV combo. You'll beat it in no time. Thats pretty much what I did. Beat him first try.

Oh an equip some accesories that improve your HP, theres another one that improves the power of potions by 150hp.

Edit: hmm I just remembered does Lightning even have Medic at this point in the game? If not just start off with RAV/SYN.

I used this tactic on a few bosses, it's a good one.
