dont ya'll see the word RUMOR. Square Enix already stated that it iss exclusive for the playstation 3.
DON'T WORRY:P
All he's saying is that they could port it later if they want. The game will be completed on the PS3, which means no compromises. We will get the first and BY FAR the best version of the game.
If they do port it to ANY other system, it will be an inferior version that comes out long after the PS3 version. By then the hype will have died off as anyone who really wanted to play will already have done so. Kind like MGS2 on the Xbox. It was an amazing game, but by the time the port came nobody cared.
i don't think FF will go to multiplatform wii couldn't prob handle the graphics and there are very few who own a 360 that like the type of rpg games that most FF games are
Yeah, square enix already confirmed in an interview that Final fantasy XIII and versus 13 are exclusive to ps3. Not to mention this is just a RUMOR. Gamespot published a similar rumor a couple of months ago that was proven incorrect by the interview. Game news sites just like to publish these stories to get the people to read their site. They also stated that they have "no plans to bring Final Fanatasy to Xbox 360" and they have other plans for the system. Just ignore this news for nowdont ya'll see the word RUMOR. Square Enix already stated that it iss exclusive for the playstation 3.

inferior version? the only reason why people would buy a port is if it has extra stuff. and extra stuff = VERY far from being inferior.saofrenzySorry to burst your bubble, but it's real simple.
FFXIII has already been said to use an entire 50GB Bluray disc.
360 and Wii use 9GB DVD's.
Where is all this "extra stuff" gonna go if they can't even come close to putting the original game on disc???
I can already see the label on the 360 boxart -"120GB hard drive required, must have at least 40GB of available space +10 more GB for extra content"
I'll give you a good reason why we'll never see this game on any other console.
Sony have given Square-Enix 50Gb of storage capacity to play around with. And after making a HUGE game like FFXII, what on earth makes people even think for a nano second that SE won't pack that Blu-Ray disk with loads of story, gameplay, insanely big areas, loads of 5.1-7.1 sound effects and the Final Fantasy music we all know and love. All in 1080p and high bitrate sound. NOW, tell me if they would even think: Hmmmm we got 50Gb of storage....... MEH! let's cap it a 8.5Gb! Final Fanasy XI online is 8Gb to this date with another expansion coming this cristmas holiday.
And to those of you who say that we can change disk mid-game, or in the case of a 50Gb game: 6 disk changes! You better save alot in case you forget toget that one-of-a-kind amazing weapon on one of the previous disks. Well 50Gb is maby a bit much, but maby 25-30Gb. That makes it 3-4 disks. You get the point.
Edit: lots of space errors.

lets not forget that the reason why square jumped the sony wagon with the original playstation was because of the use of the Disc, which made them jump from nintendo to sony
Square has said numerous times that the Xbox will NEVER SEE FINAL FANTASY (the actual numbered titles)so please quit these threads
I don't remember the details, but Squaresoft (old Sqare-Enix) and Nintendo had an argument on several things included the ROM vs. Disk, but it ended with Nintendo telling Squaresoft to GTFO, so they went to Sony. Come to think of it, Enix was one of the few 1st. partyNintendo creators back in the day (Ex. Terranigma for SNES, was a great game).
Anyway, SE have never liked disk changing, but was forced to it on the FF series on PS1 and Star Ocean on PS2 because of limited storage. That won't happen again in a while I recon.

Ugh the wii doesnt use dvd 9 it doesnt even use dvd it uses 4.7 Gb Optical discs. Meaning ps2 games hold more data.
And why wont these rumors die it ps3 exclusive they say they are no single player FF games for the 360 but it an the ps3 will get an FF MMo together.

The wii does support dual layer optical discs.[
Square debunked this quite some time ago...stating that Final Fantasy is still PS3 Exclusive...
think of it like this Dragon Quest = Wii
Sylpheed = 360
Final Fantasy = PS3
Last Remnant = 360/PS3
just a current example
ok look if they do and this is purely hypothetical multi platform it then everyone will be buying it for 360 because 360 is much cheaper
this adds to sonys need to drop prices in which case all of the poor bastards including me can buy ps3 along with FF XIII
if they dont multi platform it then good for sony
either way who cares its coming out for PS3 no matter what so why complain...if u dont own sony you shouldnt be worried
if you read the article
When questioned about Final Fantasy, Mr. Wada said;
" As of now we have no change in plans. However, just because it is designed for the PS3 does not mean that it is absolutely unusable in any way whatsoever on another platform. With regard to sales, we look at timing. It's not just about how many units are available at a certain time influence is also very important.
Make of this what you will, but as it stands Final Fantasy XIII is a PS3 exclusive, and should be for some time in the foreseeable future, but again anything can change.
I don't think this is very reliable if you follow all of the links it leads to a Japanese forum. After doing a rough translation of the page using google translator (I know it isn't great but it provides a very rough translation and can give a general consensus) The article originated froma person that attended the Square Enix Shareholders Meeting on June 23rd 2007.
In the forum the person said the following (note this is coming from a translated page)
it is possible to putting out with PS3 which the or spread quantity which is not is low, does not examine the multi-platform and the like, whether or not is.
The next person responded as such
For the present, there is no modification, but because it started as one for PS3 saying, it is not the case that it cannot utilize completely in other things. You look at timing in regard to sale. Not only the quantity of that point in time, also spirit is important.
As we can see it came from someone that was there onto a forum. I might also like to say that I like how the Japanese discuss things, its very polite.
