I know ima get flamed for this by all the pr0s but w/e i have nothing to lose

can someone help me with the weapon upgrades? I only upgraded lightnigs blazefire saber to lvl 10 but that was back in like chapter 2 or w/e and havent touched the upgrade system since. Im on chapter 11 now and im having trouble fighting some of the mobs. I just beat vanilles eidolon or w/e took me a while and i keep getting raped by mobs like 60% of the time which is ridic.

Which weapons should i upgrade, where do i get them, etc? I tried looking at all the guides online but they all looked like foreign language to me and i have no clue where to get those weapons. Thx for any input :/ Also how long does it take to get the trapezehedron or w/e lol? If any pro wanna help me or discuss plz shout me a pm and we can talk on aim or w/e.

Screw it.. Don't upgrade your weapon till you have the Lionheart. I got the gladius to level 15 and stopped upgrading lightings equipment until I had the lionheart.

well, the cheapest, easiest, and one of the strongest ways to go about it is upgrading your origional weapons... unfortunatley there is no NEED to switch your weapons but there are some weapons with interesting secondary abilities such as lightnings lionheart blade which instantly staggers enemies who are nearing that point.. but it takes a tremendous amount of points to get it to its final form.

go the the ign boards, they have a section dedicated to FFXIII

If you don't upgrade your weapons and save it all to the end you can get it to the final form pretty quickly. That's what I did.

I'm not going to go into the full details here, but check gamefaqs for better guides.

Simply put, organic items give little exp but give multipliers to the weapons exp. (two types of items organic/mechanical, they have symbols on the side of the name mechanicals have a screw symbol)

Mechanical items have high xp but take away from the multiplier.

it takes 1080 xp points for a level 3 multiplier(540 for 2x another 540 for 3x). However mechanicals take xp away.

trick is to use cheap organic to build the multiplier then then use mechanical for big xp.

each weapon has 3 tiers to max. First levels range from 21-26 then you need transformation items to make it into the next tier.

basic idea, but look up more detailed info from GFAQS
