hi all.... Just bought 40gb ps3 yesterday, ..after I bought it.I went directly to my house... and turned it on..It was working..everything.. but my tv wont show me anything in th screen .. all there is darkness.

my tv is a toshiba. (I dont know anything about my tv.. lool)..

I can tell its old tv..

so..

can you recommend me a tv Hd..

try holding the power button until it beeps twice, maybe someone used it before and it has different settings.

Did you change the input on the tv to whatever you hooked up the ps3 to? It is possible that you switched inputs, but didn't go to the right one....

no.. i am sure i didnt. switch inputs..when I connect the the ps3 cable to my tv.. the ps3 menu doesnt appear..even though the ps3 is working..

do you hear sounds coming from your tv, like when you start up the ps3, if you do, then the cable should be properly connected, and you should probably just hold the power button until the system shuts off and keep it held down til it restarts what this does is resets the ps3's video output. If that doesn't help, i really dont know, you could try calling sony. Sorry to hear that dude.

If you have an old tv or something you should switch to like video or something to get a picture on that input. Did you also check yoru connections to make sure the cables are all the way in etc?

On my old TV I need to press a 'TV/video' button, and then an 'Auxiliary' button, but I only have one plug-in.
