for real? How the heck did you change it? I have no problem on my internet with being type 2 but when I go to my parent's house it's type 3 and I don't know how to fix it. TELL US LOL
I had the same problem for over a year until I was playing around and found that my IP's modem was working as a router and blocking any changes I made to the router. First thing that anyone with this problem should do is connect the PS3 directly to the modem and see what NAT type they get. If you have a NAT 3 then the modem needs to be reconfigured from a router to a bridged connection then the router can be configured to get the max out of your service provider.jimm895I just ended up buying a router modem combo and wala NAT 2...
Considering that likely all you had to do was open up some ports on your router (most common address 192.168.1.1) I cant understand how people can go for weeks with this problem other than pure laziness, the first 5 google results are almost step by step instructions for crying out loud.hot114The thing is I tried every possible port fowarding and opening ports in the router settings with no luck. The IP's modem was the culprit all along and once it was reconfigured all the modem settings worked just like they should. I agree that the router settings are important but if that doesn't work then the most likely culprit is what's happening between the router and the world wide web.

I've tired all of these "solutions". I get the feeling that you haven't changed your NAT before.
