finally got a ps3 :) but god of war 3 is the mario sunshine of the series :(

Ive beaten all the gows except for this one currently in the labyrinth and its disappointing though still fun. the story is really bad at the end and doesnt compare to his quest to kill ares or finding his brother. the puzzles are lame and the targeting blows.

id give it a 8 out of 10 compared to 9s for the rest of the series

i also got uncharted 1 and 2,resistance 1 and 2,ratchet a crack in time,bioshock 2,mgs4,mortal kombat, la noire,call of duty black ops and killzone 2.

any other must have games

Infamous 1 and 2 are a definite for any action/adventure fan who also likes super heroes. Also Motorstorm, any of them really, they are all great racing games.

Try Demons Souls if u want a challenge.

Go for Darksiders one of my faves and underrated in my opinion.

AGREED. I think you should just play as good in Infamous1, and in the 2nd one play as both evil and good (both endings are terrific). Don't spend too much time with the 1st game, since the 2nd one is better in most respects (pacing I think too, except alot of reviewers dont seem to think the pacing is as good as the first).

I thought GOW3 was MUCh better than the first game, which i thought to be very repetitive

Haven't played GoW3 yet, but I liked Super Mario Sunshine the best, so if it is like that, then I need to buy it right now.

GOW 3 was the second best in the series imo with the second being the weakest.

Also check out the popular multiplats like ME2 and GTA4.

How dare you place Heavy Rain with those games. Don't listen to him, Heavy Rain is pure crap. I bought into the hype, purchased the game and beat it once. I will never ever ever ever play it again. Good for a rental maybe, but do not waste your money on buying the game. One quick playthrough is all that game is worth.

Go pick up Heavenly Sword, now that game is a gem.

I actually thought God Of War 3 was better than the first, but the ending was pathetic. Whoever came up with the last 30 minutes of the game needs to be fired immediately. God Of War 2 is still the best of the series in my opinion. Although that whole bit with The Last Spartan made no sense in God Of War 2.

Mario Sunshine is a fine game and while GOW3 is the black sheep of the trilogy its still one fine game.

How can you compare the two.. they're both great games in their own right. Not "failures" or "low points" to the series as people tend to label them (more in the case of Mario Sunshine but in light of the argument) but rather new pathways against the original. Look at Pokemon B/W, it got 7.5 compared to the 8 - 9's of the other games because it continued to lack originality.

But yeh, go for Darksiders. That's my best bet for a game correspondent to GoW and GoW2... but hey I only rented it so don't take my immediate word..

I'm trying to figure out what was so bad about GoW3, it's a ****ing excellent game! Excellent platforming, next to perfect controls, fast action, fun boss fights, the list goes on and on. Methinks the OP is a giant whiner.

The ending for 3 is good, and really put a finishing touch on such a jerk of a protagonist.

the 1st level of gow3 is one of the most memorable ive played in my 25+ yrs as a gamer. i still will put it on to awe strike non-gamers and show off the awesomeness that is the ps3. the game does take some bad turns after that. the majority of the boss battles are rly fun, but the writing in the 3rd is the worst in the series. it starts off very well but then just goes perpetually downward. the ending is the coup de grat. completely lame after all that our "hero" has gone through and the fact that athena is even there and her intentions are never explained and are totally just thrown in it feels like. still...i am curious as to what the premise will be for the new one they are developing. it is after all one of my all-time fav series...just like mario.
