Finally Made The Jump..

Hey guys. I finally got a PS3. I've had a 360 for a while, and a few Wii's that have all been sold due to..well, I just don't like them. Anyway like my late father would always tell me, "Just wait for the price to go down. You'll find a good deal." I held out and low and behold my local Gamestop has a 60gig BC With 4 USB Ports for $219. I was like HOLYCRAP!! I'm really enjoying it so far. Anyway, I'll be posting on this forum alot and look forward to talkin with y'all.

Thanks for all the responses guys! And Yeah, I had the option to get a slim but I was wanting the BC. I'll sacrifice form factor to play some Kingdom Hearts! :)

Congrats on the switch. What games you planning on getting? Also, the only difference between fattie/slim PS3 besides the BC is.... size? The specs are the same. You could always switch the HD later if you want. You're not missing anything. Also, the plastic quality on the older PS3's are fancy shmancy.

hey, and welcome, i recently just got a ps3 this past holiday and its been great so far, but so you know though, your xbox is not gonna get any attension for a while now haha, i havent even touched mine since i got a ps3. also you have to try out uncharted, what a great series. same with killzone as well. enjoy!

I've had my 360 before getting my PS3 recently. Now I am wondering if I should sell my 360 to get more PS3 accessories such as a keypad for the controller and an extra controller. Just got my PS3 bluetooth headset yesterday. :)

Great that your finally made in to Playstation 3. Plus you have the fabled PS3 60GB so if you have a large collection of PS2 games you can use them on the 60Giger.

However i hope you got the 1 year warrently from gamestop in case you need to replace the console. The 60/20 gigers are supposed to be more prone to YLOD. So gamestop will replace your console if it should die.

We all were. My friend's vhs tape of Fast Times had that certain pool scene played through so many times that it was rubbed raw. Seriously, that part was all staticy and the rest of the tape was fine. I refused to touch that tape....or the rewind button on his remote.

I have to admit, I was a little more smitten with Alyssa Milano. Why else would I have seen every episode of Whos the Boss...that and Cathrine Helmond is hilarious,

I also love shoot-first's cat vid...that's a classic.

TC - Glad you got it for cheap. I wish I waited a little longer to get a ps3; its gone a bit downhill since launch. The exclusives are worth checking out but that's about all it's got going for it now.

Definitely get Valkyria Chronicles, it's probably one of the most interesting games to come out this gen. Besides the amazing artwork, the gameplay is a unique mix of strategy, fps, & rpg.

LBP2 is also worth checking out, if just to play all the weird things people have made with it.

Warning: whatever you do, don't get third party titles on the ps3. It really has some of the worst ports of all time.

Also, don't use the web browser, it's the only thing that freezes up the console more assuredly than a Bethesda game.

Sounds good dude "BUT" I hope you got some kind of extended warranty. Buying a fat this late in the console cycle is kinda a crap shoot....either way congrats.:)
