Alright, finally some potentially good RPG coming to the PSP. The DS has been getting some good ones lately like Sands of Destruction, the new Suikoden game, 7th Dragon, and Avalon Code so the PSP getting one of these kinds of RPGs is great news!
I hope it's good...judging by the screens, it looks exactly like those DS RPGs I mentioned only with hi-def graphics!

While Atlus originally announced the PlayStation Portable role-playing game Crimson Gem Saga last month, now that they've got screens and box art they're announcing it again.
According to Atlus, CGS is a "Return to essential RPG fun" for the PSP. You've got your hand-drawn 2D graphics, an engaging fantasy storyline, and an easy-to-use interface. It's actually the sequel to the 2005 PSP game Astonishia Story, which itself is a remake of a Korean PC game from 1994. That's neither here nor there, as the sequel contains a whole new cast, a brand new story, and a completely new localization for North America, with more than 1,000 lines of newly recorded voice work.
Along with the more traditional role-playing game elements, CGS will feature a deep turn-based combat system, with a Critical Combo System and team attacks allowing the player to attack the enemy's weak spot for massive damage.
As generally is the case, Atlus never announces anything without a release date and a price already in mind, so look for Crimson Gem Saga on May 26, 2009 for $29.99.
