Firmware 2.0 October 30th?

I dont think Home beta will be released with the update I heard Home beta was being realeased spring 2008 but im not sure. Hopefully im wrong.

right here goes, it is apparently almost certain there is an update because they have changed the terms and conditions and they have emaied them to you. This shows that there is an update on the 30th and mentions things about sending mucis and streamng videos and stuff which applies to home.

Also at the end of this year there was suppose to be an open home beta where every1 can use it (doesnt that sound cool:D)

so i think it might happen , just to let you know this is a rumour so dont just asume it is the truth!!!!!!!!

It says and I quote "While the source appears to be genuine, I am a little doubtful of the timing since 1.94 seems to be just hitting now with copies of Ratchet and Clank, so take this, as you should all rumors, with a grain of salt."

So while it may clearly state there is going to be a FW update, it also clearly states that this is nothing but a rumor right now.

Commercial version delayed to next year, but Phil Harrison in an interview at the same conference mentioned an open beta for end of November or early December.

they haven't even released 1.94 except for ratchet and clank owners

Omg....rick is the only person with any sense around here. sheeshh....I dont feel sorry for anyone who is disappointed when the update doesnt come tomorrow... Get some reading comprehension people. Just because the revised TOS was dated to go in effect no later than Oct. 30th, doesnt mean whatever it was updated for is coming the same day. It's smart to prepare early sometimes...you know? duh...

The only thing about 1.94 is that it doesn't really add anything. It was probaly some optimizer or something or they would have made it a network update (Sony seems to be learning a little from the constant updates) and required all users to download it.

I'm not saying we are getting an update on the 30th, I'm just saying that isn't the greatest reason to say it isn't.

But keep this in mind. Ratchets original release date was the 30th. So maybe 1.94 will role out as mandatory.

I can't wait for in game xmb and home it would be great :D but my hopes only go up when i'm downloading

I expect firmware 1.94 to come out on the 30th, as that is the R and C oficial release date and thatgame requires that firmware (bundled with the disc). If firmware 2.0 comes out and there's no in-game messaging and possibly cross-game invites, people will have a collective freakout.osirisomeomi

Yea word. However, once Sony just gets In Game XMB/Home Beta in, PS3 will a flawless system.

U kno im really sorry to break the news but its just the terms of agreement.........there WILL NOT be an update the 30th of October. simply because for one its the 31st, two there's no update, and three all updates occur on thursdays!!!!!!!! I figured a lot of people have done noticed that already which should have ruled out the whole possibility of 2.0 on a Tuesday (the 30th). Be sure to check out the PSN tomorrow and check for a possible fw update.......if we get one cross them fingers for 2.0 then. lets pray that it wont be just 1.94!!!!!!! however sumn to take note of, we were gettin fw updates constantly......i think maybe about every 2 weeks or sumn like that idk (atleast pretty frequently is wat im trying to get at), anyone else notice that we havent had a FW update FOR MORE THAN A FULL MONTH!!!!!!!
