The next firmware will be ready when it's ready. I would not be expecting much in the way of major firmware updates until maybe the upcoming E3 in July (speculation on my part).
I was kinda wondering this too. I only got mine just under 2 months ago and was curious how often they update. Seems like my PSP gets updated quite often.

Exactly, we never know when the updates are coming until there posted on the Playstation Blogs.
