its just that most PS3 updates are stinkin boring, and this ones no different, necessary or not.

I wonder what the secrets are in this update. Even Home updates throw in a few hidden stuff people don't realize. After Home 1.4, the Web Browser will save all open tabs for when you close it or turn your PS3 off. While it's almost useless, it's there, and it was added.

Well for starters, the Web Browser font is much more detailed, like a darker bold. This happened 2 updates ago but after the last one it reverted to it's old ugly font. Now it has returned. I don't understand why this is.

I was reading on the Playstation site that a few users had porblems when they got the update but for those really soething to be worried about since I have updated since I got the system back last Christmas from update 3.15 all the way to 3.50 and never had a issue with any of them so I'm wondering if I should wait to update or just do it?.

Thanks Sony for totally focussing on fighting piracy and forcing the legit gamers to dl several patches that do absolutely nothing but take away features (like other OS or 3rd party USB devies). How about some new functions or improvements? it looks like there's no department for this anymore, they just focus on fighting piracy :S

Eh... maybe they'll offer a patch that will fix 3.50.... I have way too much trouble logging in and I've done some researching on other forums and I'm not the only one.

They'll never be able to stop piracy, look what they tried with the PSP: Nothing worked. Also: Piracy is very present on computers for several years and there are still a lot of publishers that can make on this system. I have nothing against Sony fighting piracy, but ATM it looks like Sony doesn't do anything besides fighting piracy and I don't like this path :/ I'd prefere Sony to go back to focus in improvements instead of fighting in a war they can't possibly win :S

Omg how long has it been since Sony updated the XMB? Seriosuly they're adding stuff that doesn't make the PSN experience better. Where's party chat or listening to music while playing and etc.

Maybe it's just me, but really what else is there that Sony can add to XMB? Most people's big complaints about PSN vs. Live have been addressed. It's like Apple and the iPhone...what is left to do when it's time for the iPhone 5? (besides Flash)

who cares that there were no new features , we all should be rather happy none of the existing ones were removed :D :D

Yet another patch.. *sigh Its a shame new features arent added this time. like: -a good web-browser (fire-fox or something), as iplayer seems very jumpy for me (I reckon its to do with the web browser), - Trophy tables - so you could see where you are in a leader board? - Twitter support, - Fix for video (when I plug in a device, I have to press tri-angle and then show all, pressing X on the device just shows a blank list),Roguey000

agreed, but the last one isn't abug but a stupid function of the PS3: You need to name a folder in the root to a specific name (guess it was VIDEO) and the PS3 would show this folder and I guess only 1 or 2 levels of folders within it. I do agree that they should replace the default option with show all or at least give us an option to switch it on. Also they need to support mkv files and NTSC formated HDD partitions. It's just stupid to make 4GB blocks for HD movies
