3.00 or 3.01? Currently using 3.00 w/o any issues, but I heard that 3.00 can cause problems to hardware (lens issues). Which one is more stable? Not only for now, but for the use in the future w/o failure in my hardware related to firmware.
Every update fixes old issues, but new ones may arise. I always update as soon as its out and have never had a single issue with it. Seems like the people that refuse to update from fear of bugs are the ones that get the issues.

EXACTLY I do the same thing as you have been doing and never had a single problem with any update even the updates to fix issues with the last update.
Tried updating it from 3.00 to 3.01, went well but recently I played GTA4, the game froze in a certain mission.. (pegorino's pride) Tried replaying it, but it still freezes..
