I mainly play RPG titles on the computer but have had people tell me for years that I should try God of War. Got it the other day and got as far as the "box pushing" segment leading to the battle with the hydra. I found the effort to be so boring and annoying that assuming there are many more of such "plot" actions I'll put this disc in the box marked Twitch Games and forget about it.

hah you probably had issues with the extreme button mashing segments you had to do for that hydra battle then. Well what do you expect? It's God of War, yet I can tell you that the third game is much more forgiving on the button mashing segments.

Way to give it a chance. :| Seriously TC, deciding that an entire game will be boring based on one segment you didn't like in the first 20 minutes does not give the game a fair chance. Oh well, do with it what you please, just know that you're missing out.

Play the whole game and decide if you would like to continue playing the series.

Complaining about the box part? Then wait 'till you go to the underworld. That part sucked ASSSSS

You shouldn't judge it by one part though. The game is amazing.

Many people are saying give it a chance but I think if you didn't like it so far, just give it up. I played all the way through God of War and I hated it, but oddly enough the first part was my favorite. If you don't like it now, you're really not going to like it in progression.

I had that same problem. I did the first level, and then said this wasn't the game for me. But, I went back a couple of weeks ago and I'm in love with it. You should really give it a second chance.

Yeah, it's parts like that that make me dislike God of War. But the worst parts are when I have to push a block across a room with enemies attacking me, there is something that keeps pushing the block back. And enemies just keep coming no matter how much I kill them. It's just annoying. Those game are filled with stuff like that.

I think they are semi-cool games, but they would be great if they had less annoying puzzles and stuff like what I described above.

Without the puzzles its just a button mashing feast - you may aswell play track and field on the PS1....

I didn't care for the game, but I also played it in its entirety. To judge a game based on the first 10 minutes isn't really fair though.

What did you expect? Its no different from other action games(better). If you don't like action games then you won't like GoW.

I think your issue lies somewhere else. I dont think you like action games in general.
