Hi guys ! This is my first post on Gamespot's forums :) I hope people aren't too mean :P

Anyway, I would like to know what do you think about the Playstation 3 'cause i've been wondering if it was a good idea to buy one. If I buy one, I will also get a 22'' ACL monitor (computer one [ I can connect the PS3 with a computer monitor if I have an adapter, right ?]) so it is a whole lot of money so that's why I would like your opinions.

Thanks :)

PS: My english might not be very good since it ain't my first language:oops:

Yeah, the PS3 is worth owning. It's 100 x more reliable than it's counterpart & BluRay is awesome. It doesn't have a ton of great games right now, (but it has some), but by the end of this year, the PS3 should be rocking pretty hard with the games. Plus the pricepoint is pretty affordable with the recent pricedrop.

The new pricepoint is very interesting but it is, to me, a lot of money since i'm only 16. With everything it should come close to 1000~1100$ which is not that bad when I think about it but I still want to be sure I really want one. I was thinking of getting: NHL 2K7, R6V and maybe a third person adventure game.

If I get a 20'' to 22'' that has a 1680*1050 resolution, will I see the graphics has HD ? (Even tho it won't be 1080P will it be 720P ?)

It will be able to do 720p so your in business!!! Wait for NHL 2K8 as its a lot better and 2k7 had a few problems. Vegas is an awesome choice, and think about NGS as well.

1680x1050 is actually a bit better than your typical 720p (it's around 1368x765 or something like that). The PS3 should handle it well, you just have to make sure you have the right input and output cables. See what the monitor takes and if the PS3 supports it, or post a link to the monitor in your next post so we can compare the PS3 with what it will take. As for games, the better ones will hit this fall; of what's currently available, I'd check out Resistance, Motorstorm, Sigma, Oblivion,Super Stardust HD,and R6:Vegas,and a few sports games if they tickle your fancy. I recommend keeping an eye on the following and see if they are something you want to pick up in the future: Heavenly Sword, Lair, Warhawk, LittleBigPlanet (my GOTY selection), Uncharted, Unreal 3, Haze, CoD4: MW, Rock Band, and Killzone 2. Best to ya.

Unfortunately, the soonest FFXIII will be out is Holiday of '08, but more like 2009, (read the latest GameInformer, the game has serious issues & will take at least 6 months for English localization after it comes out in Japan later next year).

Most likely. You can buy first party Sony cables that, I believe, will do the familiar AV-out (same piece they used on the PS2's AV cords and the packed-in cords for the PS3) but DVI-in (as well as component-in). I've never had to check for anything than HDMI to HDMI, so you're on your own looking for adapters and making it work, but it all should.

And NGS stands for Ninja Gaiden Sigma. As for FFXIII, it probably won't see retail until Holiday 08. Just doesn't seem likely it will hit in the Spring seeing it's been under a press black-out for quite a while. There's a handful of other FF games hitting the PSP early next year, like Dissidia and I believe Crisis Core, so if you're into those give those a ring (if you've got a PSP, obviously).

I was thinking about getting the Samsung SyncMaster 225BW

Here's the link: http://www.memoryexpress.com/index.php?PageTag=&page=file&memx_menu=EmbedProductDetail.php&DisplayProductID=8980&SID=

I think it would work since it is HDCP Compliant and it has DVI inputs.

I've been playing my PS3 since launch on a 22" computer monitor and I've loved every second of it. As far as games are concerned, there will be a pretty steady release of exclusive (and non-exclusive) games through the end of the year and into 2008. Not to mention the great games already out like Oblivion, Resistance, Rainbow Six, Motorstorm, MLB 07: The Show and Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

I can say that you should buy the best TV you can afford though. As much as I love my 22" screen (it works great in my small room), my buddy just bought an Optoma HD projector for $799 and now has an extremely crisp 80" picture projected on his wall in glorious 720p. You don't NEED a huge screen, but bigger is better.

You should also keep in mind that since screen size is measured diagonally a 40" screen has FOUR times the area as a 20" screen (as opposed to double the area).

Would Jesus support a console with a high break down rate?

*This is when one asks: Would he even buy a console this gen?*

:s
