I got a Ps3 today but when i was looking at the games i really couldnt decide what to pick. AC:4 and Rainbow Six:vegas stuck out, but I just wanted some feedback on what everyone out there was playing alot of. Darkness and Resistance looked good as well. Disregard any titles i've said, and tell me what u think has been the best storebought PS3 goodness so far.

Depending what types of gamkes you enjoy if it's FPS Resistance Fall of Man the Darkness and COD3 are all amazing titles to get plus two of them have greaty online play if that inetrests you,and Rainbow six Vegas. For RPGS Ninja Gaiden Sigma is just pure ownage and Genji is quite good as well, haven't had time to really check out the rpg's lol. As for sports games MLB The BIGS is incredible and fits quite nicely as well as NBA which plays both good multiplayer and single player and online as well i've also heard that Tiger Woods is good my answer is to look at user reviews not gamespot reviews as they can be a bit biased at times and see which one fits you best.

for a starter game ....

if u like FPS : either R6Vegas or Resistance or Darkness

action adventure : Ninja Gaiden Sigma

fighting : Virtual Fighter 4 (some places are selling it cheaper too like $39 or less maybe but its a very complex game ud really have to study)

AC4 has really really short missions. before you really start getting into it, the mission ends already. Building and designing is soo cumbersome. Its a little hard to get pass all the menus to even start building. (imo that is)

Yeah, I was disappointed with AC4,

I'd say Resistance for FPS, Sigma for Action, Motorstorm for racing, Oblivion for RPG, the Bigs for arcade sports, Calling all Cars for Mulitplayer madness

The first game I bought for the PS3 was Resistance: Fall of Man. It's a lot of fun so far. It reminds me of a cross between some of the better WW2 shooters and Half-Life 2. Resistance is easily my favorite shooter in the last couple of years from what I've played so far. Other than that I've been playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma, which is fine, but I'm not sure if it's worth it if you have one of the other releases on the Xbox already.

I have Rainbow Six Vegas on the 360. It's fun, though I'm not too sure about it's replay value single-playerwise. It's better than either of the Rainbow Six 3 games I played on the Xbox, though they improved the game by upping the action quotient rather than making it more tactical again like I would have preferred. I'm not sure about differences between the PS3 and 360 versions. I'd say it's worth at least checking out.

Sorry for the double post, but I have to agree with the recommendation for Oblivion, if the OP is into RPGs at all. It's awesome. I've clocked in close to 100 hours on the 360 version, and will be playing more with the recently released expansion (which I believe comes bundled in the PS3 version). The game looks even better on the PS3 from the screenshots.

My favorite part so far was completing the assassin and thief guild quests. It was like playing a huge open ended version of Thief.

I love the F1 racing game and MLB 07 the show. R:FoM is awesome as well as is Rainbow Six. And stay away from Motorstorm if you don't play online, it gets boring quick without any splitscreen options. Anyway Resistence is still your best bet right now.
