How many of you use the Folding @Home app on your PS3?

I think it's an awesome idea and usually leave it up when I'm not gaming. I also started a Folding@Home group by the name of Gamers Contribution Group the number is 140121.

Havent done folding at home since i got my ps3. you know what would really get it going... trophies on it. trophy whores would jump at the chance for a few golds or even a platinum. cancer would be cured in a matter of days.

The only reason I do it is when I'm downloading a demo or movies or whatever.

Then I just leave it on and set it to automatically turn off in 2-3 hours.

It's really the only thing F@H is good for, in my opinion lol.

Never. Waste of electricity and unnecessary wear on the system. When it's not in use, mine is OFF.

So helping to find cures for diseases you or your family may have one day is a waste of time. Watch out! Your ignorance is showing.

I totally agree with the trophies idea. Whatever it takes to get people to help so that we won't have to lose anymore loved ones or fear these diseases ourselves.

Yes I use it and I think it's a great idea with it helping to find cures for diseases! Matter of factly, I'm using it right now.

I use it as much as I can because I live in an Apartment and I'm not charged per electricity used. I'll join a team! Anyone have one to join or can I use yours OP?

They use the computing poser of your PS3 to do their calculations and simulations so there's really no way to do it in the background it would seize your machine.

I find it hilarious how people can think that leaving their ps3 on F@H for a few hours will cure cancer. Even with the collective worldwide power of millions of ps3's, that still won't cure it. If lots of power could cure it, why didn't they do it a long time ago?

Loads of countries have the money and the expertise. F@H is a waste of time and energy. Just turn your system off.

Well I suppose that's one way to think of it. But that's way more controversial then than leaving your PS3 on for a couple extra hours each day.
