I cannot seem to run Folding @ home for any great lengths.. The first time I let it run overnight, I turn my TV on and the screen is black.. I press the PS button and the "Turn off System" and "Turn off Controller" shows, yet when I cancel it goes back to a black screen.. When I went to sleep the previous night, I noticed it said I had 5 hours left on the first folding. After it froze the next morning, I turn it off and back on and notice that it still says 5 hours left.. wtf?

Last night I let it run overnight again.. I turn my tv on just now and I can see the globe spinning, but it says "Preparing work" and its stuck at 100%.. so I press the PS button and select "Quit" and now its stuck in "Please Wait"

Anyone else having issues with f@h causing all sorts of wierd issues? I've left my ps3 on overnight many times... played it for 10 hours straight and not an issue ever.. the first couple times I run F@h and its biffing things up! wtf! I wont run F@H anymore if it does this crap.

I have run mine for 10 hours straight with no problems at all, blowing out like cold air, my friend leaves his on practically 24/7, when he is not playing folding @ home is on and apparently the PS3 CAN run 24/7 if its got like air and its not enclosed

is folding@home a mandatory download with 1.6?  Or is there an option to not download it with 1.6?

yeah its not the sorta app you can run if your machine is in a bad place. Make sure its got plenty of air around it, and its in an open space it should be fine.

F@H is a download option under the "Network" media bar once you have downloaded the 1.60 update.  Folding@Home is not included nor required with the 1.60 PS3 update
