Maybe the best, but by how much?

I say go for a cheaper HD LCD TV, the quality is stillthere and you'll pay half of what you'd pay for a big brand one, unless your stinking rich of course.

EDIT: I have a 22" Viewsonic HD LCD and the quality is superb.

Yh other lesser known brands have superb quality aswell. If your willing to splash out though i would recommend a Sony Bravia, although there isnt much difference now a days.

Go for a 720p. Because you wont find one you can afford that is 1080p.

I have a 32' Bravia LCD that does a great job.

The main thing to remember that anything under about 40' as long as it supports up to 1080i it doesn't really matter because the 1080p at that size is the same, but the 1080i is about half the price of the 1080p. If you go larger then you could go with something that supports up to 1080p (then you need to look at what the TV could cost in the future, for instance the projection TV's have bulbs in them that will burn out in about two or three years and cost a good bit to change them out) then some plasma's tend to to have burn in problems. So far the LCD's seem to be the best all around for gameing and any other TV use you would need.

I have had my LCD on pause for close to an hour without a problem of burn in.

The answer is simple, 42" at least and FULL HD(1080p) , not HD Ready(1080i max).

I have a Pioneer 45" and Pro Evo is a completelydifferent game onit!

I sell TV's at best buy so u might want to listen to what i have to say, so here i go. First off sony bravia's suck. dont flame me, but bravias produce a softer picture, and only the XBR5 the new xbr produces a 120hz pic, and that tv is 4500 dollars. That is the only sony tv i would recommend. Sony doesn't make a plasma, and they only make lcd's, and plasmas give you a much better picture than an lcd. I would recommend a pioneer, its the best tv. they only make plasma's though, but any pioneer tv is amazing.

Want the best for the money? Get an HD real from the back projector that will do 1080P, cost ya less than 1000, and is whatever size you want it to be, up to about 120 inches.

Clueless......And list the pioneer price (+2,000) and please educate yourself before you go out on a "BEST BUY" point off view. Who ever post this just go to cnet and the stores yourself to make a purchase/decision. You could read a couple of articles in "Borders" on HDTV entertainment.Good luck.

If you are going to get an HD TV then I would stay away from plasmas. Get yourself an LCD HDTV. Yes, plasmas display pictures better however they have the ability to burn images into the screen if you leave something on there long enough. For instance, if you pause a game, and come back a few hours later, that image could be burnt into the screen forever! I've heard of people watching standard definition channels with the bars on the side, and the bars causing burn in. If you're a true gamer then I'd stay away from them. LCD HDTV's are the way to go in my opinion. I have a Sharp 32" aquos that is totally awesome! You can pick one of those up for pretty cheap now. You probably want to go with 720p. I wouldn't buy a TV that only supports 1080i and not 720p. And the 1080p TV's are fairly expensive and you won't notice the difference unless it's a large model. Sharp makes really good LCD HDTV's and I constantly highly recommend them to everyone.
