For MAG Players only

Two rules:

1) MAG players only can vote

2) MAG players with 15 hours of gameplay minimum can vote

Question:

Do you feel MAG is underrated? If so, why?

My opinion:

MAG is a 9/10 game. The critics mostly rated it 8/10, whereas the player reviews on Gamespot are around 8/10.

My theory:

I've spent 20 gameplay hours playing MAG and I just now feel like I know what I'm doing. The game is opening up and I really am having a lot more fun.

Initially, I thought the game was not great because I was playing it like MW2.

My theory is that MAG looks like one of the hundreds of first person shooters out there therefore people (like me) approach it with a certain set of expectations. However, MAG is anything but a normal first person shooter. Watching game videos or reading about it don't convey the experience.

It's all about hours of gameplay.

The clan helps a lot, and so does having a mic. However, as I get better...and the community gets better...and if Zipper continues to support the game...then I can only see it getting better.

Anyone have other thoughts?

It is actually a fun game to play with friends. I only have a few disappointments. after playing amount of hours, i realised there's really not much variety in maps. theres only like 9 (3 on each mode). One other disappointing thing is that there is no leaderboards or a way to check your friends stats. Only medals they have earned and xp/played time. Im hoping them to add leaderboards and more maps.

At first i thought it was very underrated i would have said its a 9/10. But now after playing 30 hours i lowered my score to a 8.2 because of the disappointments ive found.

It does get better with time, but I still feel like its a little unfinished. Just seems like it could have been so much more....

Love MAG. I think 8.0 is a very accurate score. Even back when they first announced it I knew this game would be special. BTW you're totally right with your assesment of the time required to learn. I was pretty much clueless until very recently with respects to the learning curve. It only gets better once you figure it out. Looking forward to getting home in 23 minutes & logging on for some MAG.

The game DEFINITELY needs time to get into. If you put in the effort and time the rewards you receiving are excellent. To many people have been playing MW2 which is instant action and they have lost patience. Don't get me wrong games shouldn't be a slog to enjoy but MAG is super underrated, I love this game and I feel that the people I know who criticise it haven't played it enough to understand it. I feel even now im learning and im rank 32.

Yeah Id say its underrated some, but 8.0 is a spot on score for me. Its still good score though, the game is tons o fun.

err yes and know. i did just found out last noght that if you push i think square you loss all your weapons and gain all your skill points back, thats awesome. so im now using the shotgun wich i love and that smg gun wich suck(im on sver) the smg gun is good but only hold fliping 13 bullets lmao

First off, I don't usually compare games to often because I believe all games are different in their own way. For me, MW2 is overrated forsure. I don't like the style of the game, I find it too arcadish, you know. As for MAG, at first I couldn't get into it, but after a good couple of hours, the game really opens up. I love the rpg aspect to it, well I can't say it's an RPG aspect, but I really enjoyed customizing my assult rifle character. Also playing with friends is huge on this game!

I find people don't give it enough time until they like it. I have had a lot of friends buy it and they returned it because they couldn't get into it.

I think starting out can turn people away, but personally I really like this game. Once you get the learning curve and get past the suppression and know what you are doing it is a blast.

Im a Level 27 and ive put over 15 hours in MAG. Dont be confused by my PSN trophy card in my sig Its not updating for some reason. But yes I think that after you get past the learning curve in MAG it really opens up and is alot of fun especially when you are playing with the right people so ya MAG is Underrated

Yea people have got to take time to get into its groove. For me once I hit level 8 and got into the 256 player battles I was hooked line and sinker. The game is just so deep, in its gameplay aspect, character buidling, team aspect, and just good ole tactical and strategic gameplay. I know MAG is where I'm going to be for quite some time lol. Heck I just got my GAS grenades, be gentle with them when trying to throw them through a window, I killed one of my buds yesterday like that lol.

But anyway VALOR for LIFE!!!!!

P.S. Nothing like yelling back at the OIC, telling him if we could attack C we would, but at the moment WE ARE PINNED DOWN LOL. iT would be helpful to get some airstrikes this direction, perferably beyond my squads location:)
