I am new to the series and was wondering if anybody has some helpful combat, defence, or strategies that would help a noob. I get really frustrated and need to get a better strategy so i don't give up, cause the game is really fun.

All I can tell u is to first play on normal and then try an master all your techniques while going through the game. I would tell u to block all the time and try an time your opening attacks against your opponent, but the thing is when u put the settings higher like master ninja mode, its useless to block because the enemy will just grab u and do alot of damage. Ill give u a secret on how to get the best of your enemies on master ninja. Its all about timing and using off the wall jumps and attacking them while coming down, and keep doing that, the walls are your best friend. :)
The sixaxis makes this difficult game even more difficult. But hang in there, you eventually will get better in time. Just keep on playing and eventually you'll figure out the weak points of the enemies and attack it for massive damage.

How so? I've had no problems, the controls are very tight, even in the reviews they are saying the same thing.
I didnt find it to be as hard as some ppl are making it out to be but i guess cause i played the demo so much. i got head ninja through the first 3 stages then rachel messed me up. like they said go off the walls throw the shirukens at guys that are running up, i mean you got to go with the flow. its like im planning what im doin a move ahead if that makes sense. but the game is fast paced an difficult.
