For the year of 2007, will all EA Sports games be in 30 fps for the PS3?

I was thinking this the ohter day, because i watched the Microsoft Press Conference of this E3 and they said they made a deal with EA that all sport games will be at 60fps. Does this mean that we have to look forward to getting a choppy and slow version on NBA Live and other great sports games from EA?

Well NBA Live 07 was so bad that EA didnt even bother porting it to the PS3. More than likely, just as the 360 was in 2006 and 2005, all EA games will be running at 30FPS on the PS3. Come 2008 if all sports titles are not 60FPS and 1080p then there will be a problem.

I got this from another gaming msg board.. so it ay not only apply to sports games, but with EA in general. Again, this is just from someone else's post on a msg board, and I don't know where he got this quote, but here it is:

"An EA developer has called in to let us know that he believes the Xbox 360 will triumph over the PS3 due to its better performance and more rounded support. These claims come on the revelation that development of Army of Two on the Xbox 360 manages to yield a maximum of 60fps while the PS3 version struggles to reach 30fps".

I sure hope that's not the case, 'cause I'm really looking forward to Army of Two.

That seems pretty fake an unreliable. However, I dont think EA has as much to do with console sales as they think they do...

Gears of War console seller, not made by EA, MGS4 console seller, not made by EA, Killzone 2, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, RC: TOD, HALO, TOO Human, Mass Effect, 2k series of sports titles (minus the NFL), PES...BioShock

This list could go on forever, but thats not the point. The point is there are so many great games and none of them are made by or published by EA.

So I dont think not having great support is going to effect things the way it did when Dreamcast (a much better system at the time) died.

I know what you mean, but there are still a couple of EA games that would be worthwhile.. it'd just be a shame if those couple of games would be scaled down or whatever compared to their other console's releases. We'll just have to wait and see I guess, but EA better not make a habit of this 30fps for PS3 issue. I don't play Madden, but I do enjoy NHL hockey, and looking forward to Army of Two. Get it together EA!

Army of Two is actually being developed on the PS3 and then being ported to the Xbox 360 in case you didn't know. I couldn't give a damn about Madden because it has sucked for the past 2 years. I'm not even that concerned about the 30 FPS, wake me up when they FINALLY decide to add online leagues. Then...I'll buy Madden.

As for EA, I'm not going to hate too much because one of my favorite franchises, Burnout, is being developed on the PS3 and then being ported to the Xbox 360. Burnout and Army of Two should be two excellent EA developed titles for the PS3.

fifa 07 on 360 is at 30fps

While I don't care about Madden at all (haven't been able to get into video game football), I do care about hockey. Hopefully NHL 08 won't stutter on the PS3 like Madden is doing right now (based on multiple reviews, not personal experience).spiff_p239

Bright side to Hockey is you have two options...NHL2k8 is going to have a stick control system similar to NHL 08 and both are looking to be pretty good so atleast with Hockey there is an Alternative.
