Well my favorite character is CLOUD STRIFE ofcourse but second runner up is definately Tifa.. There was just something about her appearance and strength that turned me on
theres too many great characters really. id say mine is zack, but i also love vincent, shadow, cloud, sephiroth, jecht, red XIII, setzer, see what i mean. lol
I second Squall as the best main character. While many people were put off by his loner shell at the beginning, he became a true leader making the tough decisions himself. Support character, I would have to say Auron or Vincent.

I agree with this guy in that FFVII was overrated. I never really managed to grow attached to any of the characters in that game, or VIII either for that matter. V and VI were excellent, and then the series lost something IMHO for a while, before returning to being excellent with IX and X. X-2 NEVER HAPPENED in my mind. Neither did XI. XII was okay, but a bit of a letdown. My favorite character of all-time for a Final Fantasy game was a close call between Auron, simply because he was so incredibly bad*** and, don't laugh, Yuna. It takes a great deal of courage to willingly volunteer to die and not change your mind over the course of a long journey. I always felt she didn't get enough credit for that.
From FF VII, obviously cloud. he's a great character. Second would have to be Sephiroth, since he's actually evil instead of just some random guy you have to kill. I mean EVIL.
From Final Fantasy VII, my favorite character was Aeris. From the series as a whole. . . that would have to be Quistis Trepe from VIII. She was by no means one of the coolest charactersin the series, but so far I've related to her more than any other character. I saw a lot of my own personality in her, and now that I'm a little older I still understand her more than any of the other characters.
A close second would be Lulu. She was just plain COOL.
I loved them ALL!!! But i did like Cloud and Vincentthe most and then Aeris and Tiffa and then Barret and Cid and then Yuffie and Cait Sith(didnt like him very much though). I would have to put Nanaki in with Cloud and Vincent.
Well the Best carachter for me is Squall, i think hes better than Cloud, just by the fact that SQUALL personality ressembles the quality of a Real Hero, thats for me, and if we talk about the best enemy is Sephiroth just because hes so cool
cloud was great but i kinda had an attachment to barret seeing how we have the same name and all. yea im a real person named barrett i almost died when i played the game and saw his name
As far as FF VII goes, my favorite character is Yuffie. Why? Because no one else seems to like her and I feel bad for her. My favorite character in the entire Final Fantasy series is Cyan (Cayenne) from FF VI. He was a good man, nuff' said.
