what's the current position of your console and why? hori? verti? upside down? lol. atm mine's hori, but been really thinking about purchasing a verti stand, coz my old fatty(r.i.p. 06/17/2008 - 10/13/2011, dual lens problem) was verti on it's own w/o having to buy a stand/support. i dunno, i just feel like buying one coz i want to make it stand like my old one did. and it's just me that i also feel like air flow from the ventilation will flow better while standing and maybe less heat/overheat?, and it kinda looks cool standing. but the funny thing is the ps logo doesn't rotate anymore on slim models.

i've always kept mine just sitting flat, dunno why anybody would want there's standing upright, example- a few years back a friend of mine used to keep his standing on its side an all, well one day it ended up falling down on its side, slammed with a bang and never worked again! true story. no bs.

I have always kept it vertical on the official sony ps3 stand that locks it in. I would advise against just putting it vertical without the stand. I put it vertical and hide it behind my 46" lcd. There is a lot of open space there to keep it cool. I also think the air flows better vertical so it keeps cooler. And dust settles and I think that can be an issue if the ps3 is laying so low especially if it is confined in tight entertainment center. I never ever had an issue with my ps3 in vertical stand or with wifi interference being behind my tv. Once in a while, I dust bust the vents and wipe any dust off.

My slim stands vertical next to my TV not really had any issues with it tbh. The main thing is that it gets ventilation

Mine fits horizontally perfectly on the keyboard tray on my desk, kinda nice considering I didn't use it for my keyboard beforehand anyway it was just an odd little empty space lol . I don't really like the way it looks vertically and all in all I don't like the look of the stand (didn't like the PS2slim stand too ).

I just keep it flat, without a stand they aren't that steady, not compared to the fats anyway.
