okay so whenever people are asked which is the better system they always say the 3000 is better because the GO can not play umd's. so lets forget the umd's a sec say someone wanted to use the psp to watch movies, listen to music and look at photos (i know get an ipod but we're speaking hypotheticaly). purely based on the hardware what would you say is better the go or 3000?

If you don't want to use it to play games, then the 3000 does EVERYTHING that the Go does and costs significantly less.

Obviously the psp go. So IF Sony really do a relaunch on this system this coming E3, with full support on digital games, I think the psp go would do good in sales. Who knows they might announce a price cut since it's not selling well.

That's a pretty silly thing to omit, though. What kind of conclusion would we reach, anyway - if we remove the most significant feature of the 3000 then finally the Go can be deemed superior? It would be like Sony releasing a Blu-ray-less PS3 at a higher price point than the Slim and then ignoring the fact that it's been crippled.

Well imagine that it came with a whole bunch of memory and all movies and games would be downloadable. C'mon, Its waaaay more convient to electronically own things than physically. Most of us have electronic mail, money, and music. The less physical stuff the less chance of it deteriorating.

I see it the other way around, 20 years from now will I be able to re-downlaod my games? I have NeoGeo cartridges and Atari 2600 cartridges working fine, I can take care of my stuff but can an electronic take care of its self? ( I mean say 15 years from now your memory deletes)

honestly I like the feel of the psp3000 better. the psp go is just too compact . and the volume controls are not as easy to operate as the psp3000.

oh and dont forget that memorysticks for the psp3000 are more common and cheaper to buy used (i bought an 8gb used for $20 at gamecrazy, u wont see a deal like that for the pspgo expansion slot). the pspgo uses a new memory type, that is more expensive (if you run out of space that is).

i like my GO a lot more then any of my other models. I like the gamesaves and the bluetooth. Also I can always have my entire music library along with a few tv shows, movies, and half a dozen full games, and half a dozen minis all at once. I consider it the richmans or adult psp. So all you little kids fiddling with your umd's can keep the 3000

forget the umd's a sec

This is absurd. Stripping the PSP1/2/3k of its best feature to make the PSP Go superior... or maybe not, with the $249 price tag.

Obviously, the 3001 PSP is the best handheld system for large hands like mine. Plus I do not like the smaller screen on the Go.

I have large hands and I like the controls on the Go better. The screen isn't that much smaller.

Based on the conditions you state. Then a PSP Go will work fine for Movies/Music/Photo's But the PSP brower will still Blow even on the Slick looking PSP Go. Just get the iPhone touch/ipad

I'm flying to Jersey on Friday and driving back on Sunday. I couldn't comprehend bringing a bag of UMDs with me like my 8 year old cousin and his DS games.

If you forget about price issues and UMD, the PSP Go's design is superior. Yes, it is. It is sleeker, smaller and does not scream "I'm a gaming device" if you're in a professional setting. It even has bluetooth and lets you put in a PS3 controller.

In some senses, it was the right direction for the PSP to go in, ie. for PSP2 -- but the blunders on pricing and UMDs are huge and simply not overlookable.

from your question you say ignoring games right?

I still say 3000 since the only feature GO have over 3000 is bluetooth and smaller
3000 size isn't even remotley a problem for me and the prize diffrent is SO bigg.
I dunno exakly how the save state thing works but don't sound that great outside games
I also think 3000 battery is better (correct me if I am wrong)
