It looks like you needed to get an email from them allowing you to sign up and get your own referrals. I'm not able to register to get my own code but I was able to complete the form when I used his code and registered my Vita.

I would have made my own thread to spam my referral if it would have gotten me 20$ bucks a person.

On this page go "Print refferal cards to hand out" and you'll get the page of the invites and your code will be on there. Should work with the other options too. Dunno where to share all this though since no one I know has or is interested in a Vita... ah well. If I get that $20 credit for being "referred" I'll be happy.
I'm surprised this topic is still here. I've posted this around a few places and it always gets deleted :lol: Anyway, TC, do you have any "successful referrals" yet? All of mine are still pending, and I'm very skeptical if all of this is going to work. It's all still worth a try, it'd be crazy awesome to get a bunch of PSN credit, but my doubts are rising.

Wow....lol, I gotta say the same. To be honest, I almost forgot about this until I received a email again about it (from Sony), lol. Then I remembered this post here! So I figured in honor of working for me, lol, I'd get off my butt and do the same. If any body still needs (or wants) a code feel free to use mines, too: 13938981. :P
Thus far 3 of mine have been marked unsuccessful, 1 has been marked success-closed, and the rest (6) are still pending. So far then I've earned $20 PSN, but haven't received any e-mails or anything for codes or anything. However, my 1000 points for Sonyrewards is available. The updating has been extremely slow, and I have no idea when they'll get through the rest of my referrals and mark them or not. My hopes were low for quite a while until one of mine actually got accepted. But basically we all cheated and the only chance we have from any of our referrals actually counting is if the person happened to get their Vita sometime around or shortly before the contest was going on. Referrals to long time Vita owners will fail because if any activity has been detected on the system outside of a certain time period. So maybe if it hasn't been connected online there's also a chance it will count. This topic was definitely misleading, buut I'm at least getting $20 PSN (eventually) and those 1000 reward points, so it wasn't a total waste, at least for me. As for everyone else, don't get your hopes up. Might get lucky, but again it's only going to work if you or the person you referred happened to have been a recent or new Vita owner at the time of referral.
I just got my first $20 voucher in my email just now. Â Still waiting for 4 other "success-pending" referrals to be approved or declined.
As I've seen some unsure as to what the status will say if you're going to receive money, it will say "success-closed". Â When you see that as your status, you'll receive money at some point.
Update: I actually received the $20 code for one my referrals today as well as another $20 for being referred, even though I got my Vita quite a while before this contest, weird, but AWESOME.

I don't think it's that 'weird', lol. I, too, just recently received my $20 code and I actually had my Vita for a whole year (literally I bought it February of 2012, when it launched); so that is to say the contest definitely works. I still got one 'Success-pending' on mines so I'll have to see how that one goes.

Sorry to hear your code does not work. One question for you, are you in the US? If not the code will not work for you. The promotion was only available to the US. I hope this is not out of line, but if it turns out you are not in the US, may I have your code?
