Why do the ps3 have a tendency to freeze a lot in the middle of game play. I can't even count how many times this has happened to me. That is how my last one broke it froze and wouldn't turn back on. So far mine is still good but it freezes a lot. Why?
it happened to me like four times during uncharted. it also froze once during pixeljunk monsters. other than that i haven't had any problems at all, in any other game. kinda weird.
Main reason seems to be over heating. is it in a closed space? have you recently cleaned out the vents on the back and side? use a low power vacuum if not.
Only times mine has froze is with pre-patch UT3 and once during Oblivion
Hey, yeah mine used to be the same but pretty much all of the time, Because mine was still in the gurantee, I decided it was a good idea to give Sony a call and get a new one shipped out to me and ever since I have been fine, please everyone, if you are having any faults within gurantee, CALL SONY!

I've had my console since the Australian launch and the only time it has ever frozen was during Warhawk games before the fixes were released. I really don't think it is "normal" for a PS3 to lock up.
This happened to me the day after i bought my PS3. Its first happened when i watched my first Blue-Ray video on it then it happened every 30mins-1hour. so i just took it back to Best buy and replaced it and the new one hasnt froze once. Hit-and-miss i guess.
