sorry but it's been almost a year now and there is still no in-game XMB....sooooo frustrating. COme on Sony...how hard can it be to just put out some firmware and actually use the PS button for something more than turning the console on and off. xbox 360 had all that and than some on DAY 1....one year later and still nothing for the PS3....sorry it's just one of those things that when i gop from the one console to the other that really pisses me off
It amazes me the number of people that bytch about a damn cross media bar in game. These same people complaing about what I consider a great system already (keeping in mind the system has been out still less than a year) will still cry when sony finally does give them a cross media bar in game. Unless your just a troll why cant you be happy w/what we have and what will soon follow(I mean seriously) enough is enough. When Sony decides to relase the patch that allows the CMB then they do, til then enjoy the games that are out and the games that are coming soon which really show the power of the PS3. If you cant handle that then move on to another system that will give you what your looking for.

Don't worry it will come. I say before this year endings or maybe in November it will come. The main reasons i want in-game xmb is for messages, music, and chattin while you and your friend are playing different games. I dont care if those get adding 1 at a time as long as the features come.

Yeah of course. It's great when two systems compete because it encourages them to lower prices and make better content. But what's the use of buying one system if it has all the same functions as the other. I understand exclusive games but that's not the topic we're discussing is it?

while i do want messaging in game-i dont feel xmb is needed ingame as well. a in-box option in the wall of options is all thats needed. they can even just add a music option right there too. we dont need all the xmbs functions ingame. the only thing i did messaging wise ingame on the 360 was when i was in a lobby and i massed out invites to friends. i refuse to quit a game early cause i got an invite...and im not going to stop in battle to ask my friend hows he doing.

I completely agree. Its tiresome gettng into agood game online or single player, then having your friend send a message to you. This message says "Hey wasup?", i mean wat the heck.

You paid upwards of $500 for a console and you are saying "thank GOD they are giving me something with the money I gave them...Next you are telling me when my car starts having engine problems that I shoudln't complain because at least the company which I PAID is giving me something.

no i was saying this because i want an in-game friends list option that's universal for all games...i hate the idea of having to sign out of a game just to respond to a message....game invites would be nice too so that you can actually play with your friends...or private chat for all those times in oblivion when you want to ask your friend for help or just talk to someone while you play (and don't ay use a phone that's just retarded)
for all of you who posted, oh it's so pointless it's so dumb i would never need it, once you have it you won't believe how necessary it is. it's the MAJOR reason why XBL has such a strong and successful community... it's because of that instant acess to anyone, anytime.
