future of MGS series including MGS5 news

interview is with ryan payton talking about future of metal gear (hes assistant producer)..

he talks about alot of content coming to MGO. Room for prequels with Bigboss, and how Metal Gear doesnt mean Solid Snake's story, rather The solid series is just with snake (saying there will be a new star).

remember how raiden was essentially ripped apart by fans and critics alike in MGS 2?

any MGS game with a protagonist that isnt snake, simply wont be considered MGS.....I would hope that the MGS series continues, but if snake isnt involved i dont know how far it will go...

I don't agree with that idea, I think the next one needs to take place after the events of MGS4 because I remember Kojima saying that the next one will be a completely new chapter/story but will mention what happened in past MGS games like talking about the legendary mercenary SOLID SNAKE.

As I said in the other thread Konami needs to work hard on the next one, because it will take a lot to top MGS4. and Kojima saying he will not get involved and only produce the game will be tough.

i doubt the next one will be as good as 4, it seems to me that they would just use same graphic engine with a new story (which im okay with) personally i wouldnt mind playing as raiden and uncovering his past and stories. Raiden is awsome.

The new Portable ops game (which may not be true) is rumored to be the protagonist of ocelot...which is awsome

The problem with that eample is Raiden was a surprise. Doesn't anybody remember that he wasn't announced before the games release? Everyone thought they were getting a whole game of Solid Snake...then bam, Raiden out of nowhere. Thats why people ripped it apart, they didn't get what they expected. Why does nobody remember the biggest surprise in a game ever?

About Star-650's post- You know how Big Boss was talked about in MGS 1,2, and before the ending 4. The same idea could work with a whole new character, but with the games talking about how great Solid Snake was, and all the stuff we didn't know about him. But there's not much we don't know about him.

What about a young-ocelot or descendant/ancestor of him as the protagonist of another MG game.

you are right and i apologize...Raiden was a complete surprise, and throughout the entire game i kept waiting for the perspective to shift so i could play as Snake. But I agree with isexywarden in that Snake was just so bad ass that fans will view anything that isnt snake to just be lame....So kojima has his work cut out for him on the next MG/MGS game
