G4's XPlay Makes fun of PS3 Owners...

Just kind of a random thing, but I was watching XPlay's Killzone 2 Review, and Morgan Webb's exact quote was, "Good news Playstation 3 owners, you now have something to spend your money on besides heavenly sword action figures and anti-depressants." I guess Morgan never played Metal Gear Solid 4, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 1 & 2, Uncharted, MLB the Show, etc...Kind of a lame and basis-less bash...

But in other news, Morgan Webb is ridiculously hott so I'm over it...

Too bad X-Play hasn't had an opinion worth listening to since TechTV.

Professionalism is rare these days. It seems almost everything is an idiotic flame war these days if it involves video games. Personally, I think they kind of fall into it when they take the bait of those morons that do their system wars crap on the XPlay boards. I don't care who has what system or who's better or any crap like that, but I do hope atleast one place doesn't seem like it's being run by a bunch of virgin nerds with nothing else better to do with their time aside from cry about a piece of plastic and OD on Prozac and Red Bull.

X-Play also couldn't stop talking about how your foot goes onto the curb when you stand near the edge of a street in Grand Theft Auto 4. Of all the things to talk about, that was what they wasted an entire minute of 360 degree spinning camera footage on.

X-Play goes with the crowd. Bashing the PS3's lack of games is the joke for PS3. the 360 joke is the RROD. The Wii joke is its name, and then mocking anyone fat that may use it and claim they're being active. The same horse being beaten time and and time again.

yea, well, to put it simply ande crudely: X-Play just sucks nuts. I stopped watching ages ago...And even when i did watch it, i never watched it for their game information; i watched it for the "comedy" that was in it. I will admit they had some pretty funny moments. But now i just despise like over half of G4. Its definitely not what it used to be. Anyone remember Judgement Day?freham2001

As far as XPlay goes, their skits were terrible with toilet humor only a 10 year old would laugh at. I only really watch them if they're talking about a game I'm interested in and didn't mind it at first when they got the new set, killed the skits and quit pretending like they're smart by using big words to insult forum brats. But when I last seen an episode of XPlay, it seems like they're going down that "skit to kill time" route again.

Im slipping into that mode now. Now that Ive got a better computer, I very rarely have my tv on. Im usually playing games or watching great commercial-free video online. I get to watch real full episodes of Top Gear (the real ones, the genuine runs from BBC Two that last an hour, not the funky awkward ones edited for american audiences) instead of hunting for stuff to watch. The only time my tv really comes on is for football (soccer) matches.

I did not read this whole board so I apologize if this has already been stated but Morgan says this about every good PS3 game that comes out. It's old news and the bottom line is Killzone got a 5/5 which last I checked was the best score XPlay can give.

I believe Morgan had a very similar comment about MGS4, and I know for sure that at the end of the episode in which they reviewed LBP Morgan said something along the lines of "It's so good that the PS3 finally has a game that it can define itself by" which again ignores the fact that we already had MGS4.

I doubt that Morgan is writing all her own lines so this is probably more a very dated joke or a writer behind the scenes has an inability to let go of his/her own XBOX fanboyism.

I actually did not even catch the joke the first time I watched the review so I consider thisentirelya non-issue. But I do agree with a statement made earlier if you want to see a good video game review show watch Reviews on the Run.

i like everyone else agrees that x-play is irrelevant as far as gaming news and reviews go, but i do agree that there is generally a negative vibe coming off ps3 owners. every exclusive is like the second coming of gaming and any bad review about an exclusive ends in a never ending barage of insults towards the reviewer and the publishers. it goes back and forth from ign being biased to not and gamespot being biased to not.

i love my ps3 so far its my favorite console this generation but i know it has its strengths and weaknesses. the gamespot ps3 forums tend to have more negative comments then others, i.e. system wars type comments. all this does is makes ps3 owners seem desperate for some magical mystical game that doesn't exsist. this thread in itself is an example of that, x-play is a joke and they were making a joke so why are so many people taking it seriously and so angered by it.

well thats just my opinion. i think we should stop focusing on these types of topics and get back to discussing things relevant to ps3 gaming.

After reading all these hilarious posts I asked myself the question "what did X Play give as a score?" and low and behold they gave it 5 stars.So what is there to complain about?It's quite evident that her opening remark was intended to be a joke, and the fact that this thread has reached 5 pages is rather silly.

I find it most ironic that X-play comes off with a self deprecating attitude that demeans gamers and gaming society as a whole considering that is the crowd they pander to.

X Play sucks. Period.
