It's normal when you've well paid job but try to apply some restraint. This happened to me as well. A pen and a piece of paper can help.
- List down all your game
- rate them
- write down their genre and developer
You will see pattern on your buying habit, least/most favorite genre, some well hyped game but you don't like it, rare games with low review rate but you like it and their developer. With these information, you will think twice and can spot easily which games most likely you won't enjoy.
If you want to take it to next stage, list down all going to be released games (GameSpot list is quite good) which interest you within next 3 months then write off which games most likely you won't enjoy based on information above. You will get game buying priority list this way.
To save even more money or extreme way then don't buy newly released game. Buy them few months later, a year later, GOTY version or when you get a good deal. I'm at this point right now. It's been 4 months since I bought RoF, I skip RDR and Trinity Universe. Beware though, watch out for games that printed in low quantity based on its developer and publisher.
Last, surf for news regularly to update your list and game habit preference.
