So, I started to play Bioshock 2 for the first time last night and about 1 hour in my PS3 suddenly shut off...refusing to turn back on. No yellow light, it just went back to the red standby light. The next moring it turned on fine and shut off again... this time after 5 minutes. So, I posted on the forum and someone suggested I delete the last game's data that I was playing. Now, the PS3 works and stays on just fine (about 5 hours so far... so good).

So, my question is has anyone else experienced this with another game were the game corrupted the PS3 and yoked it up?

Thanks for the input.

Metal Gear Solid 4. When it realesed I bought it, played the hell out of it for weeks no problem. Then a few months later after I sold it I got an itch to play it again, borrowed it from a friend, and all hell broke loose. The game would freeze after the first 5 minutes of the opening, and with the game data installed all my other games would freeze up. I currently have a copy I grabbed at gamestop and never have a problem. Idk I guess the game disc is corrupted some weird way that it decides not to agree with certain PS3s.

Maybe because it was the only game I've tried to play since the network went down that I've never played before. I couldn't do the game update because the network is busted. Maybe.

I'll never understand it. If you call the dev/publisher and ask why they'll just see if you're still in the 90 day window and offer to trade you a replacement disc, even after you explain it worked on other ps3(s) just fine.
