I have less than 10 PS3 games so far, but was a bit horrified to find that less than 50% of my 60 GB hard drive remains! I thought about deleting some game data, the data that takes up so much space from the hard drive (perhaps it's referred to as system data), but I don't want to mess up my save data for those games. Is this a safe way to free up some HD space, or would I risk messing up my save data if I do that? For instance, the game data for Metal Gear Solid 4 is over 4 gigs. If I delete that, will my save files become useless, or could I safely delete it and just reinstall the data the next time I stick the game in with my saves intact?
i can empathise with you. deleting a game data and game saves are separate issue. so it wouldnt affect your saves, just install again if the need arises. consider upgrading your HD, like what i did. :)
just delete the game data and save the save games.I know installing games takes up alot of space but it is totally worth the aggaravation it makes games play MUCH MUCH BETTER.
and i 22 ps3 games and i still have plenty of space on mine do you have alot of psstore hd videos or somethingrolltide101x
Actually, no. I've only downloaded one PS3 game, and other than that have maybe 2 CDs worth of music on it. That couldn't take up a gig, though, and I've only got about 25 gigs left. Now, someone said I could upgrade the HD. How would I go about doing that without violating the warranty? Until I can do that, I'll just delete the system data since it won't interfere with the saves. Thanks for clearing that up for me, everyone!
