I was just checking out ps3.ign and saw a review for quake wars, and guess what? Although this is a simultaneusly realesed port for the xbox 360 and the ps3, graphically the ps3 comes up short again. What is going on? I see ports of games that have been out for months on 360 that end up looking far worse come the eventual ps3 release. How is this possible? Shouldn't the graphics be at least equal? Its really driving me crazy that the ps3 is getting the short end of the dev stick these days. I know sony has control of what's released on their platform, so why wouldn't they regulate these dev's that want to release these crap ports? I mean orange box..WTF?? We have all seen what the machine is capable of, so there is no reason for any of this garbage. I guess its silly to hope that ports would get a graphical upgrade(even minor) on the platform, so here's hoping bioshock is at least somewhat on par with the 360 version.

get over it.

I really don't know about you but if I didn't have any info to suggest otherwise, I'd say the graphics on the PS3 are pretty dang spiffy. Spending time nitpicking about the quality of the FSAA takes time away from playing the game. Most of the graphical differences between the two systems are so insignificant that you wouldn't know unless you were looking for them.

you may be right and maybe im just nitpicking but i heard some pretty terrible things about games like orange box. The point is that sony should not allow subpar software on their hardware, not if they want to have a chance of getting back to at least 2nd this generation.

hhahaha.....ok i guess my main point is that if your going to be slow to release exclusive, top notch system sellers, then at least make sure that multi platform releases are up to snuff.

agreed. And my point is, I'd rather worry about how to beat the boss I'm standing in front of rather than what he could look like on a different system. But I see your point.

TC, top whining about the games. The multiplat games are basically the same graphically, youd have to be really nit picky to spot the differences. And the PS3 is coming out with some insane exclusives as well.

i'm just gonna say this.... making games is hard!!!!!... i just recently graduated with a B.A. in computer science and i'm plotting a course for making a small video game(2d sidescroller).... and i can definitely say that right now i'm in for learning a completely alien programming language/environment( which is a big part of the issue with the ps3...besides hidden hardware shortcomings), programming about 500,000-2 million lines of code( in a language that is foreign to me), and many other things...... granted i think the ps3 hardware is immensely over hyped( the only good thing in the ps3 is the cell--parallel processing--).... but at this point... its just that games aren't easy to make and that new environments have a STEEP learning curve.... the best thing about the ps3 in my opinion is that it openly supports java(^_^ my face lang
