So a few weeks ago while playing ff13 the game got weird. The music went away during a battle then after the battle was won the game froze. This happened twice and after teh second time my ps3 stopped reading disks and I had to replace my laser lens. So now that everything is back to normal and I have played some games on it I am asking you if you think it is safe to play ff13 since odds are the game didnt cause the failure.

I am almost certain it has nothing to do with ff13 but I just want to make sure its safe to play it again

When you had the problem with FF13, did you test other games? Did they run fine? I'm asking this because I had the same issue with God of War 3. Note: This happened to me after the big update. My games ran perfectly fine before. Everytime I got to one specific part of the game, it would freeze during loading, when I'm trying to save, or during cutscenes. The voices, music, would cut off. So I reloaded the game several times and same thing, same exact location of the game.. it would freeze completely. Long story short, the save file is corrupted. I deleted it, started over a fresh new save and no problems whatsover since then. I beat God of War 3 once since that corrupted data save. So what I'm trying to say is.. it probably wasn't your lens or the game. Sometimes it's corrupted data.

well I though maybe it was just the game but no other game would either, and at first dvd's or cds would work fine and then they didnt. i completely restored my ps3 to no avail. I backed up my save data though so I can now resume where I left off but if its going to freeze in the same place again ( it was teh same place before) I dont want it hurting my new laser lens haha. thanks

playstation3 got stuck?!!

it's not weird sense my ps3 got stuck too with many games like uncharted2 and NFS undercover, but with FFXIII, never!!!

maybe coz you played too much or the ps3 got overheated, but you can't blame FFXIII, coz the first time i bought it i played 10 hours non stop and nothing happened to my ps3

so you can play it again, it's worth playing
