My gf got a ps3 and doesn't have any games (she is 21 not that that really matters). I am sure she will like Little Big Planet because shes played it before so I plan on getting her the GOTY edition and then later on I'll get her the sequel. I can't think of any other console games that she may like and am not too familiar with console games anyways. She is not that big of a gamer so I can't really go by the games she DOES play...

The only other game that comes to mind is MW3 because that franchise is so popular and she's played COD a few times.

Any suggestions? :D Or any casual girl gamers out there that can share their favorites?

All that comes to my mind is Portal 2. Awesome puzzle/platformer, and it has great co-op.

Maybe the Ratchet & Clank games? Any of the Lego games? Edit: Katamari Forever is another one. There are lots of PSN games that would probably be good, as well. You could get her a PSN card maybe.

Rock Band 3 is an amazing game, its quite a bit of money to get the instruments, but the disc is only $20, so you save money right there, and with so much DLC out now, you won't be disappointed, best music game out today

Sonic Generations and Rayman Origins might also be good possibilities.

I'd recommend Oblivion and Skyrim as well as Fallout 3. If she's too casual for that, she won't be for long. Those are great games! There's also Civilization Revolutions.

Just get her LPB2, no reason to get her the first one (unless you're cheap). And yeah Portal 2

Do not start her on all 4 one. It is a decent game but the weakest of all the main games. Have her play the ps3 ones in order: tools of destruction, quest for booty (downloadable title only, no disc), crack in time, and then all 4 one. While the other games are not multi player I think she will enjoy them and they have much better stories then all 4 one. You don't want all 4 one to be her first ratchet and clank game.

So you want her early experiences to be with slow to develope, buggy messes?

Unkind, bro, un-KIND! I would say that holding your choices to "girl games" is a waste of time, seeing as most women find panderous advertising & gender focus to be insulting. That said, they're not really all about the Lara Croft, though women who take long enough to get over what the press has used Lara to represent for their own purient interests (selling magazines and TV time), they realize that Lara is a tremendously positive character, and powerhouse hero.

Ask her what she likes, what she doesn't like, and download her a few demos. Go from there. but the worst advice you're ever going to get about what your girl enjoys is from strangers on the Internet.

Ask HER. They like to be included, makes 'em feel like you care about what THEY care about.

i only suggested All 4 One for the multiplayer aspect of it

Depends on what kind of games she likes. Yeah this is a very broad and obvious answer but it's true. Asking her what kind of games she might like is a good idea. It doesn't always have to be a surprise and she will probably have a general idea about different game genres and what she does and doesn't like.

If she already has LBP1, then don't get her the GOTY edition. Get her LBP2 instead, it's probably almost the same price anyway. I don't really know other than that. It looks like her tastes aren't that wide or if they are, you don't know of them. Maybe try Ratchet and Clank?

Coming from a hardcore girl gamer, I think it all depends on her preference. Is she intrigued with RPG's or does she prefer platformers? I personally despise most "girl friendly" games. I do not like Sims, Ratchet and Clank, Little Big Planet, or anything that usually is geared toward the novice gamers. I personally loved Bioshock, it's what got me into FPS games. Although one game that I turned two of my fellow female co-workers onto was Alice - the madness returns. It was an amazingly beautiful and fun platformer. Definitely a fun game with beautiful and dark graphics. So my recommendation would be Bioshock or Alice - The Madness Returns.

im a girl gamer too and i like everything from killzone to little big planet...so trying to generalize "girl games" from "guy games" is pointless...it depends what your girl is into

Perhaps Batman: Arkham Aslyum and/or City. If she enjoys CoD because its an fps as opposed to because so many friends play it, you could try getting her MW3 or BF3. The most recent Tomb Raider game is pretty cheap now on psn, or you could buy the trilogy. I agree with what some others have said about LBP though, don't bother getting the first one - just get the second. Its a much better purchase as all the additions make the first game pale in comparison and all lbp1 levels work on the second game anyway. You could try one or both of the inFamous games, too. Very casual superhero platformer, imo.

I think some of you are getting to caught up by him using the word "girl" in the title. Really he seems to just be asking for games that we think are accessible for a novice gamer, someone who doesn't yet know what kind of games s/he likes, and I think there are some good suggestions in this thread.

First off, you lucky dog, not many people have this problem. My gf is head over a$$ into the Kardouchyians and what ever else is on tv...but she really enjoyed watching me play Heavy Rain. There are a lot of situations involving children and family that a girl would become emotionally attatched. Uncharted 2/3 would be good as well. And you might consider getting her a move controller. My gf is gaga over that crap.
