Ok so i'm picking up a PSP on tuesday. I've previously owned a psp multiple times, but wasn't too satisfied. I'm coming back to buying and an am wondering how is FFI/ FFII, MGS: Portable Ops, and Valkyrie Profile Lenneth. Also other recommendations are greatly accepted. Just don't recommend Star Wars since it's coming with the PSP.

MGS: PO and Lenneth are indeed great games. I'd recommend picking up MGS: PO with the system if you are indeed interested in the game.
