I tried to find a site which told me how to get game saves from my PC to my PS3. They told me I had to download some random 'WinRaR' software to be able to perform the process. Is this true? I thought it was just as siple as putting it onto a memory stick under SAVEDATA and slotting it into the console. Apparently not.

So is it just MS>>PS3>>SAVEDATA? That's how I've got it currently and the PS3 says there isn't anything on the MS.

Are the files in a compressed/zipped folder?

WinRaR is a well established and trusted compression program. It is akin to WinZip, but with the focus on .rar files.
