Winners

Sony.

With third-party exclusive games dwindling, the surprise showing of casual game LittleBigPlanet marked one of the first truly compelling reasons to own the PlayStation 3. GamePro editor Mr. Marbles called LittleBigPlanet "the YouTube of gaming" in regards to its online content-sharing features shown in Phil Harrison's GDC keynote. And its sheer visual beauty lends weight to the claim that the PS3 has as much, if not more, graphical chops as the Xbox 360.

It was nice to see that Sony had some really great news (for a change). I was starting to get worried that Sony was going to drop the ball, but Home was a nice addition.

with MOTORSTORM sony has already destroyed any competition. MOTORSTORM i am sure cannot be produced for x360. we were unlikely though, had MO beeen released a bit later the DEVS could have implemented HAVOK 4.5 into it.

with LAIR , MINNA GOLF and HEAVENLY SWORD sony takes total control of NA and JAPAN.

Europe falls to SONY domination come march 23/

HOME has made XBOX LIVE a total obsolete product.

I wonder whether HOME would even affect SIMS sales.............i dont see any reason of Buying SIMS............lol

I guess it's the death of E3, but it's weird to look at GDC as a place for marketing style announcements. E3 was always the hype showdown. GDC served a whole other purpose. Sony won, no question, but it's probably cause no one else was competing.

Wasn't very hard for them to do so.

Microsoft's big news was that the size cap for XBLA games was raised to 150MB, Nintendo's big announcement was that they were working on a new channel that was obscurely detailed and sounds exactly like two channels that already exist.

Sony announced Home and LittleBigPlanet (which got more applause than the entire E3 2006 conference) and showed off new developer tools.

Pretty easy win, at least as far as I'm concerned.

I think Sony used the change to show LittleBigPlanet and HOME to the developers(since it is a developers conference) as a chance for marketing/hype building.

actually, you want to hype the DEVELOPERS about the console. we all know, if the developers don't like the console, there will not be any good games.
