Unfortunetly it happens and is going to continue to happen unless we the users start making more selective purchases. I know I was defintely feeling this way when I got R6V2 last week and the online seemed broken...I'm happier that it seems to have improved, but developers need to put out 100% completed titles rather than waiting two months AFTER a release to patch it! Well, because of this I am more selective and the only titles I definetly know I'll be purchasing for the remainder of 2008 is GTA4, SW:Force Unleashed and MGS4...other than that, I'll wait until a game receives a cult following and all necessary patch work before considering a purchase!!!
Sometimes I wonder if devs have too much pride in not checking out what their competition is doing with their projects. Some games are designed well and technically polished to the point where it becomes standard, and other devs should take notice but don't. Don't get me wrong, I am all for innovation or creativity but I see nothing wrong with using a succesful formula from another game. And either expand on it or perhaps boldly change it to translate to a well designed game.
Case in point, Resistance, a launch title, in my opinion has one of the best online setups. It has in-game messaging using the XMB, very good servers for online play, and decent clan options. Why didn't COD4 have the same set up is beyond me. COD4 is successful in providing that intense single player and a decent rewards system online but why no clan options or in-game messaging? And we all know about the problems connecting to games.
If gamers (new, casual and hardcore) can all unite and say enough with the mediocre games, then maybe, devs will take notice. Unfortunately, that will never happen. :?
I've read both good and bad site reviews but have noticed most user reviews are positive. I watched about 40 min worth of gameplay yesterday and intend to pickup Viking when I can find it on store shelves. From everything I've seen, read, and heard it's something I'll enjoy.emitsu97This is also true when it comes to certain games. Some games that are considered or reviewed "BAD" are sometimes a major hit with certain fan bases. I know there are games in my massive collection that some people just hate or thought they were terrible.

There will always be crappy games. Just like there will always be crappy music, crappy movies and crappy TV. I don't think there's much we can do about it.
First of all, Thank you very much for making this topic!
I hope the game developers would realize that not all gamers are like 9 yr old kids who would just be satisfied on whatever game they release, hell even my lil brother thinks most games ps3 has are crap, he rather play the old ps2, I had my ps3 for a year now and until now I stll dont get the fun that Ive been expecting from it, I mean I worked extra hard to earn money so I can buy a ps3 and I think the game developers should work extra hard too, well if they are, Im so not seeing it.
Im sick of waiting for a good game that would worth my money!
I just saw the Dark Sector vid from your link. WTH? The vid and the game that is released today is completely different!
[QUOTE="TacticalElefant"]You can stand up and be noticed by not purchasing a game. mrvic87
I know, don't get me started. Read my blog and you'll get the full explaination.
