Back in the golden days game makers were pumpng out 3 games a week MINIMUM for NES. Playstation and PS2 had a pretty large library but around the middle of ps2's life it started taking a noise dive. Now companies are scared crapless to go ahead with games that are unproven and I also think that all the people with any real talent are off playing with computer games and mmorpgs. If you take away all the games that are cross platform the list for each next gen console is pathetic.
I dont even understand how there can be a drought when there are so many great games that could be remade and updated. Video games, tv , movies have become to commercial and if they arent predicted to make millions then they never get greenlit. It sucks but I dont know how to fix it. Until chinese and mexican kids learn how to do programming for pennies an hour we are screwed.
I think consoles will either die out, or they will revert to previous generations, or some new way of making the software will have to come along so it wont be so costly if they bomb.
