First you play the game, then when you get to a place you want to save it at, you use the save option (normally accessed by pressing 'start' to go to the menu, then look for a 'save' option). Note that some games don't have a 'save' option, but rather save automatically at certain points. Eitherway, you now have made a save. Now, next to you play, you use the 'load game' or 'continue' option from the menu to reload your saved game. You have now succeccfully used a game save. Congrats!

they are there cos you can see what you have saved and if your ps3 breaks ar something happens to it you can just copy the saved data to a memory stick or usb drive so you dont lose anything

I knew I should've made this understandable.. Sorry I was being rushed.. What I mean are the Game Saves you can download from GameFAQS and ect. on games.. Once you download them, (on your PC) how do you transfer them to your PS3??

Use flash drives or an MP3/PMP works too

and make some folders and name them like these

" PS3 " folder => " SAVEDATA " folder => " BLUS30109G485365C5 " folder (code varies on other games) => save datas

Plug in a flashdrive or anything you transfer data from PC to PS3.

Create folders at the top of your memory stick/flashdrive/ or whichever

PS3 > SAVEDATA > 'Whatever the saved data folder is called' > savedata

You shouldn't cheat!
