You need to do a little self-research.
Almost all games on X360 and PS3 support 1080i.
Only a few selected support true 1080p.
There is a difference in "I" and "P"
So, your question blaming PS3 for not having 1080 resolution games is irrelevant. 8)
360 isnt true HD, the games can't do true HD, its the 360 hardware that does the upscalingthageneral3
You sure about that?

pretty sure you cant put HD content on DVDs, look at the true specs of the games, halo was like 540p native
I would just like to point out -
Most of the PS3 games ARE in 720p.
1080p IS an improvement over 720p
and I really don't comprehend.... Why does the PS3 upscale PS2 games like MGS) to 1080p, but it won't do it with it's own games? At least the 360 upscales it's own games, if they're not 1080p...

You can put HD content on any storage format, even a floppy disc, just not very much of it. Blu-ray, because of it's capacity, can store alot MORE HD content than DVD-9, but there isn't some magical quality that makes it "true" HD and something else not. It's just storage, it's all just 1s and 0s.
I am new to the PS3. I just got it 5 days ago. I have noticed only a few of the PS3 games are available in 1080. Why is that? It seems when I had the 360 all the games were in 1080. Can anyone explain this?sony_vaio
Correct me if I'm wrong, but most 360 and PS3 games are not native 1080p, but upscaled. Of the 2, the PS3 has the largest group of native 1080p games, small though that group might be. The PS3 does upscale to 1080p the ones that are not, or am I wrong?

The PS3 doesn't upscale PS2 games to a 1080 resolution. What Sony is doing is using software to add color shades and textures to there PS2/DVD's that makes the whole experience look so much better. Then they also include a feature that smoothes the textures as much as possible. Sony has never claimed there system upscales to the full HD format when it's not produced in that format.
The 360 is only upscaleing a very limited amount of resolution (possibely sending codes that is telling the TV that it's displaying in a much higher resolution than it actually is delivering). There is no way that a true HD game or movie will ever fit on a DVD9 regardless of how much it's comppressed. Just remember how the Halo 3 game was claimed to be a HD game and it was found that it was delivering something around a 620 resolution instead of anything that could even be considered a true HD format.

You are correct about movies, not about games.
You need to do a little self-research.
Almost all games on X360 and PS3 support 1080i.

UH I did some "self research" you mornon it was called I turn the games over and read the back of them. The FACT of the matter is that ALOT of the PS3 games do not support any kind of 1080 wether it is P or I.

ALL 360 games are natively 720p(cept halo 3...lol) and the 360 has a built in upscaling chip thats puts them to 1080p. 360 CANNOT do 1080p native but it will upscale everything to the highest supported resolution of you tv. thats why you think all the games are in 1080p

That is not true. Currently, the 360 does 3 games natively in 1080p while the PS3 does 26. All of the rest are upscaled.

What the hell do you mean? He said and I quote "Almost all games on X360 and PS3 support 1080i". That statement is INCORRECT. There are VERY FEW PS3 games that support any kind of 1080 you iddiot.
