I know Star Wars Battlefront 3, Duke Nukem Forever, and afew other gameshave stopped development because the developers have went bankrupt. What do you think will happen to these games? Will someone else pick them up and finsish them, and if they do, do you think the games will be made right? Or do you think we will never see them again

actually, i find this issue more significant to me in regards to PSP games rather than PS3 games. anyway, a stoppage in production usually means the company either ran out of funds (equity, didn't get proper financing, etc.), could not establish a publishing contract, a restructure within the company which resulted in scrapping of all projects and reorganizing the capital structure into other activities (this is more common in show business than in the gaming industry, but a significant change in management and/or staff may result in forgoing all projects), and/or other reasons including the simple "we just don't feel like wasting any more time on this game because *fill in the blank* " bottom line, it's very unlikely that the games that were under production, and were apparently scrapped, will see the light of day.

Afrika did came out in japan and i strongly believe someone will pick up duke nukem forever and continue the legend. i really hope so. laughing at 3D Realms saying "it's coming this year" was one of the best thing to do to start the year.

Timesplitters 4? Free Radical is finished so at the moment it is cancelled, unless some company picks it up.

who do you think might pick it up? I think the developers of FEAR could do a good job, or the developers of Serious Sam (whatever happened to Serious Sam, I loved playing one of them on my friends computer).

At least from what I saw on the demo reel for Duke forever, it really is a shame that 3DR went bankrupt... for years they showed nothing about the game, but only in this year did they actually start showing stuff. And from what was there in the alpha reel footage, it seemed that the company was finally within spitting distance of release, with the game going gold in time for the last November estimate, which would have meant release in April of next year. A true tragedy, especially since I got into FPS's because of Duke Nukem.

You mean Croteam? Croteam developed Serious Sam and 2K publishes it for them. That being said, a game featuring Serious Sam and Duke Nukem could be some (insane) fun. :)

I read in Gameinformer that they scrapped the entire game.
