Tales of Eternia - without a doubt. An excellent game on the PSP. The game blew me away with its slick graphics, excellent story and music. Plus it was really funny. Its the first Tales game I played. I didn't like Radiant Mythology though...
warhammer 40,000 was a huge surprise to me, it was GREAT!PA_DUTCH
Testify! One of the best games on the system for strategy fans, totally over-looked... nice call!

Lumines. At first I thought it was dumb but now its my favourite PSP game.wado-karateJust downloaded it to my PS3, this game reis the pimp business.
The thing I loved about "WarHammer 40K: Squad Command" was that they took the formula of six units and really kept it fresh by mixing in various vehicles and heavier ground forces... it never got stale, and the objectives weren't always "Blow the **** off the opponent" kill-fests, sometimes it was about getting to a point on the map and defending it, escort missions, and other strategically themed stuff. What was even better is the customization you can apply to each unit in terms of weapon load-out... That took it into the Cool-O-Sphere for me, because I always feel a bit constricted by games which hand you the pieces as-is and expect you to figure it all out. In this game if you like the coverage of a shotgun front line with lascannon snipers bringing up the rear, you can do it - or make them ALL shottie-toting badasses with a missle launcher chaser. It goes on and on.
If you like a Turn-Based Strategy game you're going to love it... you get bonus points of fun if you're familiar with the different units, so that you can see what a great job they did of bringing the WH40K universe to life, but it's not essential to the enjoyment. The sound is great with slogans from the source material shouted by Chaos and Imperials alike...
I really can't say enough about how much I still enjoy playing the game... in fact, that's the call for my before-bed relaxation tonight!
:P
Go pick it up, especially if you're done with "Field Commander" and looking for something a little darker and more grim than "EndWars" rip-off of "Advance Wars" graphics!
PS - I agree about "Daxter". It came with my PSP and it was MONTHS before I started playing it, but when I did I was suprised at how much I enjoyed it and how great a job they had done making the characters and environments look so great without a hickupp.
tekken: dark ressurectionwraith-squad66You were surprised with tekken? I knew it would have superb graphics

I agree with you 40k is an awesome underated game, and if you are a warhammer miniatures player, the minimal reaction about this game will be a geekgasm XD
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles. I wasn't sure I could enjoy the old-style straight forward whip-action Castlevania when compared with the newer Metroidvania style of Castlevania Portrait of ruin and Symphony of the Night (which you can actually unlock SoTN in the PSP Drac. X Chron.). But the graphics are great and the action is not too bad itself. SoTN and PoR are still my favorites, though.
Crisis Core. Seems to be a very poor game if your an RPG fanatic. The only game I enjoyed this year is Wipeout Pulse it's a lot better than Pure.4dry4ni agree with wipeout pulse being one of the best games out there the system, period. totally under appreciated, barely anyone has played it. and yet it is easily one of the best looking and best playing games out there. worth your time.
