Ok so my friend wants to gameshare with me but I'm kinda skeptical, I trust him but I want to make sure my stuff won't get deleted or something.

First of all, if I game share and someone hacks my account, what happens? Do I lose all my games, (I use psn cards so no need to worry about credit stuff), and can I get my account back, or what, please explain what I lose when someone hacks me, if they did.

Second, if I created his account on my PSN, which I did for some friends, so let's say I made an existing user that was my friends, can I delete it? Or will it delete all of his stuff even though he's on another ps3, if i do delete it and it does delete his account is there some way to retrieve the stuff back?

Also, if I got a game or whatever, something buyable on the psn store, downloaded it onto my PS3, is it there forever? Or will it go away if I delete my friends PSN or something.

I'll have more questions soon, I forgot them. Thank you.

Yes, but why make it so you can gameshare, what if I were just trying to get my games from one PS3 to another, is that such an offense, even if both were my PS3's, how would anyone know the difference. It should not be bannable if it is a feature that is accessible.

here's how Sony has it worded: Sharing personal PSN account information in order to obtain access to another person's PSN account. Changing another persons email address, and/or password without their permission in order to gain and control access to an account. Offender attempted to use or take content they did not pay for.

Explain to me how a function implimented into the PS3 is a bannable offense, I don't know how many people have been banned this way but...

People who are hacking their PS3's and using hacks to get to 10th prestige and all that stuff on Cod Mw2 are not getting banned.

Because to me hacking a game is worse then sharing a game, I payed for it and I should be able to share it with whom I want if given the chance, and I am.

Alot of people do it with close friends or family members, its mostly for use with multi consoles you own. Do not do it with random people. You can only do it with 5 systems. Once game are bought it is tied to that account and cant be removed. Leting your friend use your account is at your own risk. Its your own fault if something happens.

and thats the same as piracy. you pay so that it can be used by YOU, not play it and give it to all of your friends, so they can play it too. its possible to do so that if you have multiple ps3's, you dont have to purchase the content 5 times.

I haven't done anything yet, but I do only plan on letting close friends do it.

And also according to Sony, I should not give games away or let people borrow them because that is the same as piracy. OR I should never let somone play my PS3, because they will be playing a game they did not pay for.

I'm pretty sure you are allowed to do that as long as you're not making money.

In school we burn movies onto the computers so that everyone can watch them, we also use clips from them and share them, we also use copyrighted materials in videos we use, but it doesn't matter because we're not making profit.

I meant copyrighted music, we add to our videos.

I honostly doubt anyone will get banned for gamesharing, as long as you are not stealing someones account, and as long as you don't change their e-mail or password. If I wanted to share a game I bought with myself on another PS3, then ok, if I want to share it with a friend then I should be allowed to.

The difference with burning CD's for everyone you know if that you can do it as many times as you want, for gamesharing there's a limit.

I also want to know what exactly can you do while downloading something that will keep it downloading. I know if you play any game it stops downloading, but if I play a demo will it keep downloading, or even a ps1 game?

Bottom line: According to the Terms of Service, it's bannable. Will they know you did it? Probably not. It's your PSN account, do whatever the **** you want with it. To answer your original questions, if you delete the owners PSN info, the game won't be playable. If someone hacks your account (not really hacking when you give them your log in info :|) you're **** out of luck; there's nothing you ca do about it. Report them to Sony? "Umm... I gave someone my account info so they could download a game and they changed my password.." Yeah, they'll help. You obviously don't really want any advice because the advice given was ignored and questioned several times; do what you will.

Thank you.

Here's what you should do. Go to your friend's house, or have them bring their PS3 to yours. Put your account info on their PS3, and begin downloading whatever you want to share. Don't save your password to their PS3 unless you really trust them not to change your account info. You can now log out of your account, and back into theirs while the game is downloading. Anything that's being downloaded will pause if you're playing something else, or watching something esle. As for getting banned. Your chances are pretty slim as long as you don't post it all over your facebook, or send PSN messages about it to your friends.

Bannable if you "steal" it

sharing means giving what you have to others. Its an option.

If you plan to do it and you don't trust the person to well, create a temp password. Give them a set time limit so they can't just start handing out your info. Once that time is up login. It will kick them off and already have the password changed.

The risk at this point is this person just decides to delete every game you got, which does them no good.

I tried to do some reading to clear it up better and in Sony's words it states that sharing up to 5 accounts is legal. Who you choose to share with seems completely up to you, but i wouldn't expect Sony to help you out if someone steals your info. Seems weird cause its the same concept as burning someone a copy of a music cd you just bought, but on the other hand its an option. You are allowed to do this under the very own terms Sony wrote. If they really wanted it to stop im sure they could figure out a way to stop it. I personally know a bunch of people who share.

Me and a cousin split the cost of a game one time and we shared that. Is that bad too?

This is a quote on game sharing from Jack Tretton, CEO of SCEA:

"You can send that content to four other friends for that initial investment," said Tretton. "We want to get the game in as many hands as possible."

"It's not about generating profits at each and every interaction with the consumer," he said. "I think that really offsets the argument that says, 'Wow, that's a really pricey system.'"

So, how is it illegal?

The idea is you log onto their PS3, download the data and log off with no password exchange at all... Its supposed to be for real life friends. Giving out your own password is a security breach at your will so don't go crying to sony when you log in to find nothing to download.

That is a very old quote and Sony has changed there stance. However I may or may not still game share today and my PSN account is just fine.
