I too am looking forward to Lair, and only got my PS3 2 weeks ago.
After lots of reading on the internet regarding Lair, it seems that many places rate the game low because they say "the controls are frustrating".
Well just because they play a game for about 30 minutes before reviewing it, and its not in the clas-sic fps or racing configuration, they think its crap.
Rather, look at gameplay videos for many awesome games... It's clear the reviewer can't play the game for shi,t.
People who have gotten the game early, and are playing through it, said that they too thought at first "OMFG THIS IS SO HARD", but once they got used to the controls, it was so much fun, and a perfect configuration for flying dragons amidst battle.
I saw a Gameplay video last night where the reviewer just kept flying around for 4 minutes and making the camera do weird shyte. Crap like that makes a game look bad! For a minute the game kept telling him to jolt the controller up to do a backflip, but the moron just kept going left and right :?
Wait for the Gamespot review as I am.
Im waiting with fingers crossed, however I get the feeling this is going to be an amazing game.
There have been many purely fun games in the past that got terrible scores because the reviewers are too lazy to adapt to new st-yle of play and find the game too hard. NEWS FLASH: We don't play games to finish it on hard level in 3 hours. Gamers love challenging and rewarding games.
I think Lair is this, with the added eye candy and ear candy included.
Oh, and for the x360 trolls browsing this thread: Halo 2 also had gameplay videos that seemed totally pathetic, where the reviewer would just run around and not shoot during battle, making the game seem lame.

Reviewers do not play games for 30 mins, mainly they will finish a game completly unless its something like oblivion then they will just do the main story.
Really looking a videos of lair its quite obvious this game has problem's, when i watched on the spot and they played lair i thought wow that game is looking really bad.
i find it funny how people that have not played the game downplay proffesional reviewers by saying nonsense like they gave it a low score because they were poor at playing it.
Just because you want this game to be a 9.5 doesnt mean it really is, oh and if gamespot give this game anything over a 7.5 i will eat my ps3 with a bit tomato sauce.
Gamespot seem to be the new harshest reviewers going giving lower scores than every other sites for some of the best game this year, for example two of the latest games bioshock and metroid, gamespot gave very good scores too but there scores were lower than any other site, not saying they are wrong i tend to agree with gs more than any site am just thinking they have been a little to critical lately taking off points for minor things.
I suppose they needed to do something as they gave perfect dark the same score as bioshock which was just nonsense, but i suppose times have changed pdz was an ok game for its time, it had nothing to really compete against but looking back pdz was not a 9 game.
