As many of us know, Sony Pictures is working in correlation withj FoxHound Studios to bring the MGS movie out of the dark. This is considerable leverage for exclusivity rights that often gets overlooked in the ongoing debate regarding MGS4 and it's true home, the PS3. On the flipside, it would seem that Developer/Publisher relations between Epic and Microsoft Game Studios is at an all time low and even spilling out into the public. In short, Epic has had to break every rule they've laid down for themselves and their reputation with the PC gaming community in the name of Microsoft profiteering... and they know it! "Cliff Bleszinski of Epic has even been quoted as threatening Microsoft to port over GeOW to the PS3" to try to leverage some developer rights over the content of the game and XBox Live, but they have already inked the contract and Microsoft is winning much to the chagrin of Epic. Is there a change in the tides over at Epic? Have they learned their lesson from doing business with the devil? Unreal Tournament games have always used OpenGL in correlation with DirectX in the PC sector. These guys were also one of the first to show off their game engine running on early PS3 devleopment hardware at E3 '05. It seems almost like a perfect match.

Gears doesnt Excite me either, from the people i have talked to about GeOW they tell me the campaign is short, way too short, and the only thing they use it for is Online play, but i guess thats why everyone thinks HALO is King. (not too much into Halo either)
Dont get me wrong i enjoy online play, but i enjoy a game with a well thought out realistic campaign even more than online play. Â
WOW, that would start such a fanboy war that I would have to stop coming here. What Cliffy B says is exactly what all developers have been saying, that more games will be multi-plat because of development costs. I mean, Square Enix is possibly going to make their first MS title, whether it is a port of the FFXIII compilation, or something new.
I do however doubt that FFXIII can make it to the 360, I heard rumors that the new White Engine was designed for the PS3. But damn, MS losing Gears is almost as bad as them losing Halo.
This is how MS does things. They don't exactly have a business ethic that allows relationships to flourish. I don't know if Gears would ever hit the PS3, but maybe Gears of War: The Epic Edition might. :lol:
First of all EPIC is not "one of Microsoft developers".You are getting Unreal Tournament 2007 from them. There is a contract that makes first two GEOW games exclusive to 360. No matter what people say that is a fact(don't ask me for link because i can't find link about something i read like more than a year ago). So what am i trying to say is. PS3 wont be seeing GEOW or GEOW 2 but GEOW 3 on PS3 is 100% sure.

this is very interesting. i kind of hope this happens. microsoft shouldn't force their consumers to buy content that the developers intended to be free. but i know that geow is a 360 exclusive game, so i doubt it'll happen. unless epic made a new IP specifically for Sony to go up against geow...but that'd be stupid if they did that. why compete against yourself lol.

MS has exclusive publishing rights to the first 2 GoW games. I guess part 3 and later could come to PS3.
I'm kind of on MS's side with this though. As the publisher, MS flipped the bill for a lot of the development for the game. They just want to see a return on their investment. It's not like PS3 games are going to be getting free DLC. Resistance and MotorStorm premium DLC anyone. It's the way things are going.Â
Prediction ::Â 2 years from now, Epic will be charging for their DLC.
