get new ps3 or fix 60gig?

i need your suggestions, cause i havent been able to play on my ps3 for months because it got the yellow light of death but i took it to a place to fix it and they coulnt, so i was wondering should i send it to sony and fix the 60 gig or get a new slim model?????

ps. i do own ps1 games like ff9, ff8, ff7, chrono cross and other ps2 games like mgs collection god of war and other good ones that i might be interested on playing later on........but im not sure wat to do :( suggestions?????? (if u think i should fix the old one can anyone on the us give me sonys number :P)

I think if you send it in, you can get a slim for $150. Also, today is the last day if you buy a 160 gb from best buy, you get a $100 gift card with it.

If you want your system to keep YLOD, send it to SONY. If you want a system with better circuitry design, pickup any model without bacwards compatability. You can play your PS1 games on any SKU of PS3. To play PS2 games, just pick up a PS2 anywhere for 20-40 bucks.

About a month ago they offered a slim trade for 119 if you send it to sony, but it is a refurbished slim

Hm, I would say get a new Slim and a PS2. A repaired PS3 is likely to get YLOD again after awhile.
