get ps3 slim?

bit of a dilemma. i dunno if i should get the slim or the 80gb original one. imo the original one looks better and i don't really care about the size and the portability of the slim. original ps3 also has much better bundle offers atm. on the other hand i don't know if the difference in heating and power consumption is significant enough to get the slim, but i heard that the slim will be faster which is a definite plus. so which one should i get?

I'd go for a Slim. Simple!.

I'd buy both, then sell the 80GB in a couple of years for twice its price now.

The glossy PS3 is going to be a novelty console soon, replaced by the Slim.

I have the slim, it is an excellent machine. It is solid built, has tons of harddrive space, is quiet, and is sexy to look at.

I like the regular PS3 because it stands up without a base stand added for an extra $25 and I can put a skin of my design on it from www.uniqueskins.com.
